There were a few interesting notes in Pro Football Weekly's Draft insider (http://www.profootballweekly.com/PFW/NFLDraft/Draft+Insider/2006/wwhi042506.htm)today. It's a premium service, so I can't copy and paste, but here are the highlights:

There are several teams eyeing moving up into the back end of the first round to target offensive lineman. The Bills were listed as one of the teams with multiple mid round picks that may move up. Miami OT Eric Winston, Ohio State C Nick Mangold and Oklahoma OG Davin Josephn were listed as targets.

They listed some medical results that may effect some players:

Tennessee DB Jason Allen — possible degenerative hip condition, although some teams have cleared him.

Notre Dame TE Anthony Fasano — has a plate and screws in his back. He's played with it, but some teams think it will eventually be an issue.

USC QB Matt Leinart — left arm is a concern, still weaker in testing.

Auburn OT Marcus McNeill — Has a narrowing of the spine and a knee injury, but many teams have cleared him.

California OT Ryan O’Callaghan — Multiple shoulder injuries are a concern.

Florida State LB Ernie Sims — Suffered five concussions but ct scan showed no brain damage.

Penn State CB Alan Zemaitis — Structurally unsound in multiple places with shoulder and joint issues. Teams are taking him off their boards.

Character issues:

Wroten, no surprise and Jonathan Joseph may slip because of character issues. Joseph pissed some scouts off by going out to eat with Ko Simpson while his team mates worked out, then made them wait while he warmed up. He was suspended for 2 games in college.

On the rise:

Ohio State LB Bobby Carpenter (top 20 picks)
Hofstra OG Willie Colon (4)
Oregon QB Kellen Clemens (3)
Cal Poly DE-LB Chris Gocong (3)
Western Michigan WR-RS Greg Jennings (early 2)
Weber State OT Paul McQuistan (4)
Florida State WR-RS Willie Reid (3)

btw, the Bills 2nd and their own 3rd #73 would equal Chicago's pick #26 in the 1st round. That puts them ahead of the Jets, Seahawks and Colts, who all may be targeting interior lineman. Davin Joseph or Nick Mangold may both be around.

Joseph would be sweet! I'm hoping that the C spot is taken care of between Fowler and Duke. G is a huge need early (even if we get Reyes signed pre draft, which would be cool.).

Damn, I liked Chris Gocong as a day 2 pass rushing specialist.... hope he doesn't go in the 3rd

No need to give up first day picks to move up. There will be good OL available when we pick in the second and both thirds.

I don't see a guard in the draft who would be worth a first round pick.

Please don't move up.

We won't be moving up, or trading away picks for another first rounder. That is something that TD does, I don't think that Marv is dumb enough to give up two picks for one with all the holes that we have.

Right. 3 years down the road, here is not much difference between players drafted from say #25 to #75 (late first to early third). If you look at the "value charts", they are nice, and teams do seem to approximately follow them, but some aspects seem a bit weird to me. For example, if you were building through the draft, the charts say you would be the same drafting the #1 pick (3000 points) or trading down and taking six picks at the bottom of the first round: #28, 29, 30, 31, 32, and 33. Hughhh!!!
