The Bucs, Bears, and Colts are doing well with DT's around Bunk's size. His penetration will force the double, until Tripplet makes people pay for the 1 on 1. We can add a bigger body later, maybe Stanley or Adams.
I think Bunk is gonna be really good, and I'd hate to miss out b/c we got a guy that can "fill space", and has weight concerns. If Bunk wasn't there, I wouldn't have a problem with Ngata a little later, but Bunk is somethin' serious. Ngata can be a clog for many years, but Bunk will be special for many years.

Tell ya the truth, I'll miss the excitement the draft has brought to my Range experience. I might feel empty for a second after the draft, until I start thinking about the undrafted free agents

Well put . . . you don't pick a space-filler at #8 . . you take a playmaker. I don't have a problem with Ngata . . never have . . .I just have a problem taking a player like him at #8.

How exactly is Ngata just a space eater? His times are just a bit slower than Bunkley's at the combine. I'd be happy to have either one, but don't rule out Ngata as a space eater only, when it's just not true..

Ngata is about 2 tenths of a second slower than Bunkely. Say the word "two" out loud. That sound is shorter than two tenths of a second. I don't think a QB will notice the difference in time. But the offensive guard will notice the 30-40 # difference in a bull rush.

So 4.6 as a wr or rb is not much better than 4.4. 0.2 seconds is a huge difference in the 40

On the lines, short area quickness is more important than 40 times. Ngata is extremely quick off the ball and has a great short area burst.
Take a look at the Yahoo highlight videos and compare the two off the snap, both are great, but to my eye in those clips, Ngata reacts slightly quicker.

I don't like that Ngata has been know to have weight issues, wears down quicker and has been know to disappear at times in games.
I have to agree that we need a playmaker with the 8th pick and Bunk seems more like a play maker.

I don't want people to get confused about my opinion . . . I wouldn't boo either pick . . . I just prefer Bunkley . . . I'm an FSU alum!! LOL. Seriously, I think Bunkley has more potential to be a guy that teams have to scheme against . . .that's the only difference. If we take Ngata . . . fine. Either way, out D-line will be better.

Pure talent and build-wise, I prefer Bunkley, too. But i heard him interviewed on Sirius NFL Radio, and when asked about Buffalo he didn't sound excited at all, and kinda hmm'd and haw'd around talking about the Bills. When they talked about Baltimore, the guy was gushing, talking about meeting with Ray Lewis and the facility in Baltimore.
I also read somewhere that Marv or someone in the Bills' brass are concerned about Bunkley's ability to play in the cold, or his desire to play in the cold. This was in accord with what I heard him say on Sirius, so i think attitude-wise the Bills would lean Ngata.
Personally, I'd love to see D'Brick or Vernon Davis, but ain't gonna happen.

I'll put it in perspective for you, Why do you think we finally found out when BB FINALLY told someone, "Oh Yeah, I went to visit the Bills LAST WEEK." But we heard Announcements that HN was coming. I always compared Fla. to Ore. Remember Travis Henry, Winfield?

the thing about bunk is, he wont' be playing at 306 except for the first game, he'll go back down to his more natural weight of 285-290, and he does get hurt. the bills line will be better with either player

The guy gained weight after not having to work out for a YEAR. Let me see you not work out for a year and not gain ANY weight. The guy does what ALL the other DTs can do, but he's doing it with 30 more lbs. That's freakish. Did you not see him run down that rb at the SIDELINE??????

If your point is that Bunkley wouldn't enjoy having to live in Buffalo, and the cold . . .then I understand.
But when you say "Bunk didn't blossom until his Sr. season" .. . you're dead wrong. He's been making noise since his Sophomore season.
