If things play out according to plan Bush, Williams, Ferguson, Leinert, Young, Davis and Hawk will be selected before the Bills pick. I have gone through numerous mock scenarios, and the only 2 of these that might possibly drop are Davis and Young. The Jets trade up or down, Cutler joins the other 2 QB's in the top 7 or someone takes Ngata or Huff and it just means those 5 players go different places in the top 7. Even if two unexpecteds happen like Cutler and Huff crack the top 7, that likely means that both Young and Davis will drop. You really need at least 3 surprises before we can think about Hawk or Ferguson, unless the surprise is the Bills trade up. However, in most scenerios I tried with a surprise, Davis ends up dropping to the Bills. That being said it really comes down to Huff, Davis, Ngata and Bunkley at 8 for the Bills. If they drop down Justice and Jimmy Williams would also be likely targets.

Here are a dozen of the most likely mini mock examples:

Texans Bush Bush Bush Bush Bush Bush Bush Bush Bush Williams

Saints Williams Ferguson Ferguson Ferguson Williams Williams Williams Williams Williams Bush

Titans Leinert Leinert Young Young Leinert Leinert Young Young Leinert Leinert

Jets Ferguson Williams Williams Leinert Ferguson Ferguson Leinert Leinert Cutler Ferguson

Packers Hawk Hawk Hawk Williams Hawk Hawk Ferguson Ferguson Ferguson Hawk

49ers Davis Davis Davis Hawk Huff Huff Hawk Hawk Hawk Davis

Raiders Young Young Leinert Davis Young Davis Cutler Ngata Young Young

Drop Davis Young Davis Davis Davis

Jets Bush Bush

Saints Williams Ferguson

Titans Leinert Leinert

Texans Ferguson Williams

Packers Hawk Hawk

49ers Davis Davis

Raiders Young Young

Drop

Very interesting. I have to agree with your theory. I think the only thing that can change it is Cutler. If he pops in (via trade) then D'B or Hawk could fall.

I just can't see the Raiders passing on Vince Young if he gets that far. Brooks is not their answer at qb and Al Davis will want to make a splash in the draft and maximize his biggest weapon---Randy Moss. I certainly would if I was the Raiders. I'd say it is almost a sure thing.

That leaves us with Davis and I think there is a good possibility he goes to the 49ers to give Smith a real weapon. How can you build a franchise around a #1 pick qb but not give him a weapon to throw to? I'd say the chances are better than 50/50.

Maybe it is wishful thinking on my part but I have a feeling someone big, other than Young and Davis, will fall to us. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed someone else takes a shot at Huff or Cutler.

I like Davis. It opens things up for us offensively.

I agree . . I have a feeling that we are going to have a chance at someone special Saturday. I hope it's D'Brick . . . he's right up our alley . . . I can't remember the last AWESOME left takle in Buffalo.
