According to this site, Rick Gosselin from the Dallas Morning News is one of (if not the) best mock drafters in the business over the past three years. His first mock was done last Sunday (none since that I can find), and he has D'Brick falling -- and going -- to the Bills.

Here's the site that grades the mock drafters:

While I do believe D'Brick has the best chance of dropping to us out anyone that is considered a top 5 pick, I just cant see it happening.

I also cant see all 3 QB's being choosen before we pick

Plus I like C.Chester alot but there is no way hes the first G/C off the board

I would be ticled pink if D'Brick fell to us, but if he did and we selected him who would be our DT choice in the 2nd: Wright, Watson, or maybe Wroten.

Why would the saints take Lineart?

That's the key. The QB's. If all three do go before us (doubtful, but a possibility), it's a given that either Brick, Davis, or Hawk will fall to eight.

3 QB's + Bush + M. Williams + 2 of those three = 7 picks. One will be there at 8 if that's the case.

Why would the saints take Lineart?

Brees' contract: $8 million bonus and $2 million salary in 2006 and another $12 million bonus and $3 million salary in 2007.

So, I'm taking this to mean it's essentially a one-year deal and they'll re-evaluate after the season. Could they take a QB for insurance? Possibly. But, I agree with you that it doesn't seem to make much sense.

I was thinking the same thing back when Cutler stock was sky high but then Youngs stock dropped a little and then Cutlers did to. Then N.O. signed Brees and that sent everything down the tube IMO

I think there is a good chance either Young or Cutler drop out of the top 10

IMO it really all revolves around the Jets pick for us. If the Jets go QB there is a very good chance that D'Brick will fall our way.

Another reason he might fall is b/c when teams are picking that high they tend to want impact players, someone they can get excited about seeing on highlight reels. I really dont think a LT fits that bill and thats why they tend to drop sometimes

The more I think about the draft, the more I think D'Brickashaw falling to us is a serious possiblity.

Every pick made in that mock makes sense. Even if the Titans take Vince Young instead of Cutler in that aforementioned scenario...I've read that the Raiders are in love with Michael Huff (plus they took an OT last year in the top 10, so would they do it again?).

Quit teasing me, Rick.

Quit teasing us, Sal!!!!!

I'm already a basket case waiting for Saturday. If D'Brick is there at 8 it will be a miracle.

We're about due for a miracle. I sure hope it happens on Saturday.

I have a hard time seeing the Saints take a Qb, but then again Drew Brees is coming off an injury, so you never know.

I dont' see brick making it past the saints at 2, unless they trade out of that spot, they traded gandy, and drafted brown last year brick and brown paired together makes a great tackle tandem for the next 10 years

I can see this happening. Even if the Saints don't take a QB. They could take Williams and the Jets would take a QB. It's not out of the realm of possibility. Good find, Sal.

If D Brick is there, is it a given that the Bills will take him?? Maybe they want the help on the D-Line more??

Unless he has some insider telling him the Saints will draft a QB, I don't see it happening. They did after all spend a boatload of money to sign Drew Brees. Brees is still a fairly young QB who should be a solid starter for them for the next 5+ years. Also, the scuttlebut around the league is that there is a split between the Titans front office and the coaching staff on which QB to take, and none of them is Jay Cutler. Word is the front office likes Vince Young and the coaching staff likes Leinart. Remember, Norm Chow, Titans offensive coordinator was Leinart's OC at USC for three years. I can't picture Cutler being a compromise pick. If Leinart is off the board, the Titans go with Young, but I don't think he will be. The pick that really controls where D'Brick goes is the Saints pick. It they don't pick a QB, there's no way D'Brick falls.

Even if D'Brick starts to fall someone will trade up and grab him.

saints could draft leinart in hopes of trading him for a lot of picks, ala san diego and manning. i have heard that as a possibility.
