I think this is our perfect chance to trade down and land in the 13-14 spot and pick up an extra 3rd rounder, or pick up a 2nd round and switch our top 3rd for their 3rd. I think we can pull this off, because Detroit will be set on either Cutler or Huff and will be hesitant to trade down because if they land in the 13-14 spot, Cutler and Huff can both be gone to Arizona and St. Louis respectively. Arizona might trade down if they want Cutler, so that would be the only other team I can see trading spots, because both the Rams and Cleveland like Ngata and need a DT. So if the Eagles or Baltimore want to trade up to get Ngata its going to be either with us or Arizona, and I frankly didn't like Levy and Modrak coming out and saying they didn't like Ngata that much.

Nonetheless this is our chance to make the perfect trade down. We land in the 13-14 spot, and we'll still have a chance at Justice or Bunkley, and if we get either of them of while at the same time picking up another top 75 pick, I would be ecstatic.

I'm NOT opposed to a trade down, but NOT to acquire a 3rd third round pick.

If we acquired a 2nd rounder for our switch of first round picks and if we dropped NO further than the 13th pick, I would be happy with that.

The heat is rising on Bunk, and I'm not sure we can go too far and have a shot. Justice would still be there, but I could live w/ Mike Gandy better than Tim Anderson.

I want Bunkley, but how far is a safe trade down before we risk having him fall off the board?

I'm a fan of dealing our #8 and #104 for Philly's #14 and #45. The draft value chart has this as a Philly getting 1486 in points to our 1550 in points - sounds fair...

If those teams want Ngata, they'd essentially be in a bidding war for our pick... The question is, would any team in between our 8th and whichever pick we got (Philly or Baltimore) be wanting Bunkley?

Either trade we'd make would only have us falling a few slots... Get the extra picks, and there will STILL be SOMEONE there at the first rounder we'd get for the #8...

This team has a lot of holes... We already got 10 picks... 12 would REALLY allow us to fill up a lot of those holes.

Well, if we dropped down to 13-14 range, we'd probably lose out on Bunkley, because Cleveland would probably pick him.

The question should be is Bunkley worth the 8th pick, and losing a 3rd or 2nd on top of that by not trading down?

I don't think any player really is worth the 8th and losing out on a 3rd or 2nd where we ill pick.

It would be risky to lose out on Bunkley or Justice but there is so many needs on this team that the extra pick would help.

Why is it that we have not heard of any teams wanting to rade up to get Bunkley?? They must want Nagata over Bunkley for a good reason.

I really think Marv and Tom want Huff.I think we will stay at 8 and pick Huff unless Davis gets by the 49'ers.

I have the same feeling.

I rather still have Justice and an extra 3rd.

And Justice will be there at 13 or 14. I'm pretty sure of it.

Detroit will go defense
Atlanta won't pick Justice at 10
St. Louis already has their tackles
Cleveland won't put anymore money into their lines this year

I think they want Huff or Hawk and view Davis as primo trade down bait.

Everyone has Green Bay taking AJ Hawk but I can see them going with Vernon to appease the Brett situation.

I can even see them trading down, drafting Leinart if he falls or even pick Ngata outright.

If AJ gets by the 5 spot, we could very well end up with him in our laps.

Usally when a team trades up for a positional player many other teams follow with scarfing up other players in that position. In other words Bunk could go right after philly or Balt. trade up to take Ngata.

Not a chance.

Both 49ers and Raiders need LB help, and Hawk's value at either of those spots would be way to difficult to resist.

But Hawk is not getting past the top 5 anyway.

He is the safest pick in the draft IMO.

from another thread, was mentioned trade-down potentials ....

There seem to be 9 players who really might go 1->7.

1 Reggie Bush RB USC
2 Saints D Ferguson OT Virginia
3 Titans Matt Leinart QB USC
4 Jets Jay Cutler QB Vanderbilt
5 Packers Mario Williams DE North Carolina St
6 49ers Vernon Davis TE Maryland
7 Raiders Vince Young QB Texas
8 Bills Haloti Ngata DT Oregon
9 Lions AJ Hawk LB Ohio St

Depending upon who is "left over" at the #8 pick, the Bills will probably get calls from specific teams that figure that they are just that one player away. Expect the Bills to take the whole 15 minutes on the draft clock. Here is a Igggles site: http://home.comcast.net/~bobgonzalez/#_Work_Information
which expressed their desire for trading up. We could work out a deal such as:
trade #8 for #14, get Iggles 2nd round, swap 3rd round picks, give up 4th round pick, which would essentially change our 4th round pick into a extra 2nd round pick. ,,,,Trading down with someone below the #18 pick would also be good as we could pick up a extra 2nd round pick cleanly. With a first, 2 seconds and 2 thirds we could rebuild the D line and O-line and snag a worthwhile DB.

I think this is our perfect chance to trade down and land in the 13-14 spot and pick up an extra 3rd rounder, or pick up a 2nd round and switch our top 3rd for their 3rd. .

I had the exact same thought. The value numbers get close enough too.

Eagles get #8 - 1400
Eagles get #70 - 240
__________
Value 1640

Bills get #14 - 1100
Bills get #45 - 450
Bills get #76 - 200
__________
Value 1750

OR

Eagles get #8 - 1400
Eagles get #104 - 86
__________
Value 1486

Bills get #14 - 1100
Bills get #45 - 450
__________
Value 1550

Either one works for me, but I prefer option one. So we can get more picks.

haloti is worth the #8 pick. i am not sure if we should pass him up. The passing of his mother in jan. makes me think he is going to be one dedicated lineman with a big mean streak.

The team that I would really be worried about picking Bunkley if we swap picks with the Eagles is not the Browns but rather the Rams. They lost their two DT's and will need to start fresh. The Browns play a 3-4 and that takes Bunkley out of his element, kinda like what Sapp went through in his first year in Oakland. If the Browns are going for pass rush help with their 1st rounder it would come in the form of a guy like Wimbley or Lawson rather then Bunkley.

I believe Hawk will be there at 8 because I'm totally opposed to taking him.

He will be a Bill.

If I'm GM, I stand pat and take Bunkley, who is a can't miss prospect because of his obvious physical dominance combined with a strong work ethic or trade down and snag Manny Lawson.
