I am not sure exactly what the Wonderlic entails, but it doesn't have anything on the SAT's. It remains one of those little draft related mysteries that add to the overall insane fun of the whole process.

Here are some potential brainiacs (27 or greater) and idiots (17 or less) as identified by this test of all tests...

Brainiacs
Dusty Dvoracek - 41
Matt Leinart - 35
Nick Mangold - 35
Joe Klopfenstein - 33
David Thomas - 33
Broderick Bunkley - 31
Charlie Whitehurst - 31
Eric Winston - 31
Jon Alston - 30
Jay Cutler - 29
Mathias Kiwanuka - 29
Chad Greenway - 29
Bobby Carpenter - 29
Greg Eslinger - 29
Davin Joseph - 28
Laurence Maroney - 28
Manny Lawson - 28
Marcus McNeil - 28
AJ Hawk - 27
Thomas Howard - 27
Tony Scheffler - 27

... Bunkley and Dvoracek would make a brainy DT tandem to add to our rotation.

Idiots
Alan Zemaitis - 9
Ko Simpson - 10
James Wyche - 10
Jason Allen - 11
Greg Blue - 12
Taitsui Latui - 12
LenDale White - 12
Antonio Cromartie - 12
Marcedes Lewis - 13
Claude Wroten - 14
Tim Jennings - 14
Jonathan Lewis - 14
Chad Jackson - 15
Sinorice Moss - 15
Charles Spencer -15
Bernard Pollard - 15
Orien harris - 15
Kamerion Wimbley - 15
Vince Young - 16
Michael Huff - 16
Haloti Ngata - 17
Tamba Hali - 17
Jonathan Joseph - 17
Jesse Mahelona - 17

...I was very suprised to see Michael Huff's name on this list.

I wish I could understand why this exam is so important. It can't be to know these players intellegence because they could give them a IQ test. It might be more about the speed of coming up with the answers in as quickly as possible. They just might want to know how these players think on their toes.

The idea is that is tests your ability to "think on your feet".

Ive taken the test, its like any online "IQ Test" wit hlots of comprehension questions, some pretty tricky.

It has nothing to do with intelligence. Its about recognition, quick thinking, and problem solving...

Does it make Bunkley look better to me? Yes

Does it make Nagata look worse? No.

Its just another number they gte at the combine, I think it should be used as a bonus to payers, not a detractor

The problem is, a player might be very slow at word recognition (which is a part of the test) and logical combination, and still be very fast when it comes to reading plays. Most of these guys have touched far more footballs than books in their life. I think the low-scorers mostly have a language problem.

I agree completely. Dan Marino scored poorly on this test also, but he sure could read defenses and make snap decisions. I don't believe that this test has much to do with playing ability, including instincts/intelligence.

I really dont put alot of stock into the test

Bunkley for example got a 31, but he almost failed out of college before his senior year.

The only classroom test that matters to me is when the player is at the chalkboard disecting plays

"Alan Zemaitis - 9"

Zemaitis went to Spencerport High School which is outside of Rochester. It isn't one of the better school districts in the area but I'm sure he received a decent education there. I'm surprised he scored so poorly.
