Give it up for our boys for there first ever 50th win and this is a team that was not worthery of a playoffs spot at season start ....

Very awesome accomphishment by the Sabres. I remember when I thought 40 wins would be huge...

Here comes the playoffs!

Yeah, but im not so sure i want the Flyers to be the first round opponent either after today's pummeling of the rangers. Although i still think that we match up well against the flyers defense.

This is great accomplishment for a team, that many of the so called "experts" were picking to finish last or not far from it. Now its time to get pysched for the playoffs.

Exactly. It's a skewed number...still something to be proud of, but it needs to be adjusted downward a bit if you're really gonna compare this team's accomplishment to past Sabres teams. I guess you'd have to do the same for the 4-on-4 overtime wins.

Some teams racked up a huge number of wins in the shootout this year...Dallas, for instance, had 12!

The Rangers had a bunch too, I think their OT record is abysmal.

If you want to look for teams that will be "surprising" losers early in the playoffs, it is worth taking a look at SO points and OT losses.

What an exciting season. The people of Buffalo really enjoyed it, especially with a likely garbage football team next year.
