Im taking my road test april 11th......and I was wondering if you experienced drivers out there have any tips or warnnings for me......Im very nervous. :whitecar:

Do you know what things you are going to have to do for the test?

As for tips, obviously don't speed, come to a COMPLETE stop at stop signs, and always signal. Don't be rude to the guy giving the test either.

Just don't do anything really stupid and drive smoothly and you should be fine.

If you come to an all way stop sign and you have the right of way and there is a bus to your left make sure you don't go until you are completely sure that the bus is not dropping anybody off. :D

I failed my 1st test because of this situation. I started to go and the bus opened it's doors when I thought it was just stopped at the stop sign. I got there first and had the right of way. Automatic failure though because apparently that stop sign was also a bus stop. No problems the 2nd time though. Passed without losing any points.

Also, make sure you dont have a cracked windshield. I had to re-schedule my 1st attempt because the day before the test a rock hit our window on the highway. :D

It was a long process for me. haha

Stop completely at stop signs, look both ways, and use all of your mirrors at all times (make sure the guy sees you move your head), and use your blinkers all the time too.

yea, signal when you first leave too.... i know someone that failed immediately for not putting on the blinker when pulling away from the curb

Wow...they seem pretty rough up there.

I got my license in VA and probably could have killed a small child and passed. Seriously, there are some people who I know who shouldn't be allowed to drive a go cart let alone a car.

parallel parking is the tough part that im worried about.

I raped the parallel parking part, I don't know where you live. But, I only had to park behind one car, not in between two, I guess too many cars were being hit from people backing into them.

I just took mine less than a month ago, and I don't know if its different from yours, but i lost points on:

Hill parking - Use blinker ALWAYS (i forgot)
Hill Parking - Move your head to check for traffic while pulling out

Just make every move deliberate, check for traffic with a dramatic head turn, and make sure every stop is deliberate, you'll be fine

Make sure your seatbelt AND your instructors seatbelt is on. I know someone who failed because they didnt ask the dude to put his seat belt on. As for me, I passed with flying colors on the 1st try, driving a standard transmission too!

mine was too damn easy.....enter truck.....straight....left.....left.....parallel park.....right......3pt turn.......straight.....left......stop... Took about literally 5 minutes

Buckle you seat belt...and make sure the proctor buckels thier seatbelt too....sometimes they'll not do it on purpose.

Nerves will kill you in a road test.

That's why you should knock back several shots of alcohol before taking the test.
