for our rush defense. That can be addressed in free agency. So can the offensive line. What we need in the first round is someone who is going to blow some doors off. We couldn't score on offense so we get a guy that can help.
We are implementing new systems on both sides of the ball. I'd rather have veteran FA's who have been through an NFL training camp learning the new systems. Especially something as complicated as an offensive line blocking scheme.
Vernon Davis needs to be the pick. He's a speed mismatch against LB's and Safties and he'll throw a corner through a wall.

I hear what your saying about Davis, he could definitely be a game breaker, such as a Gates, Gonzalez or Sharpe. The Bills O needs all the help it can get.
But, if Davis isn't available then who? I say Williams or Ferguson. Either one of these players would be a welcome addition along with any free agents. There are many needs for this team, even a free agent QB.:bills:

I don't care how good he is. IMO TE, K, FB should never be taken in the 1st round. Seems like a wasted pick to me.

No, but a LDE is. Especially one by the name of Darren Howard.

The defensive Lineman we should take at pick 8 is Mario Williams.
The only players that this team should draft at # 8 and fills a need are Huff, Davis, or Williams.

Dog, you must not've seen the games our defense lost After the offense got us the lead. BuffaloBIlls.com/multimedia.

The loss of Pat Williams, Spikes and Clements horrific year made the Bills D swiss cheese, no doubt. But in know way was the O even close to mediocre
and the play calling was less than B rated to say the least.
If the Bills can select Williams at #8, that will be a huge step in the right direction for the D. As for the O, we have no line. Can you say 1 2 3 sack!!
Last year was a blur for the Bills and its fans, we need to forget and move forward. Also, its time for Moulds to move on.:bills: :peelingout:

We looked pretty good when KH stepped in. We looked even better when TT went down and Duke came in. We didn't miss a beat when CV was replaced by Duke(for a while too). We looked like Elephant crap with the LG experiment. Beef up the interior and we'll be OK.
What if Mouse works it with Gandy, Anderson, Preston, Villarial, Peters. That's what he had last year. Oh yeah, our OC got axed like around wk. 4.

I just think that Davis makes a more immediate impact than a rookie lineman.

Don't get too enamored of Davis. He will not look as super against pro safeties. Safeties in the pros are a different caliber than he saw in college. His college opposition was against too-small for college linebacker and too unskilled for QB/RB or too slow for CB/WR type people. In the pros he will be getting a steady diet of repositioned best athletics from other positions or the best safety he played each year in college. Don't believe the film clips too much.

Well I watched Ngata get pushed around by some pretty average offensive lineman. When I see Vernon Davis, I think Antonio Gates. Davis played against some pretty good competition in the ACC.

We all saw how far Gates and Gonzalez took KC and San Diego last year...
The two Super Bowl teams, in fact, didn't have great TEs by any stretch of the imagination.
Having a TE is a great asset to have, but it's not a priority that needs to be addressed with a Top10 pick, IMO. Davis is a freakish athlete, but we need defensive help ASAP.

Well, both SB teams had two TE selected in the first round. The one in the yellow uniform was a rookie and had a couple of false starts but you can see heŽll be good, and the one with the blue uniform, you can argue he lost the game for them.
