Here is the expert about the Sabres if you do not want to read the whole thing:

Of course, we can also expect teams to tweak here and there while addressing needs with minimal upgrades -- a checking centerman, or a fifth or sixth defenseman who happens to be a right-handed shot, or something of the like -- with the trick being not to upset team chemistry. Buffalo comes to mind. The Sabres are enjoying a great season and getting healthy with the return of Daniel Briere and J.P. Dumont. They also have excess goaltending with Martin Biron available. Any addition beyond picks and prospects might change a team dynamic that has worked so well. Still, an upgrade on defense is possible.

It isn't inconceivable that the 'D'-heavy Edmonton Oilers could part with a defenseman or two to bring in Biron. And Biron to the Canucks has merit as well, especially if you start envisioning Todd Bertuzzi as a Sabre. But Alex Auld has played very well in goal for the Canucks, and to bring in someone and hand him the number one job is possibly the diciest decision for a GM as it pertains to team chemistry.

Yeah Bertuzzi is interesting but i wonder do we really need him, i mean with briere back he is our goal scorer, but still intrigues me.

Oh yeah, who needs the best power forward in the game, and one of the top 10 players in the league?

He would make the Sabres a much better team...

Washington has one of the best players in the league. Columbus has a couple of the best playmakers in the league. Team Canada had a hodgepodge of the best players in the game. Where has it gotten any of them? it's not always about the best talent. it's about how the players mesh with each other. Bertuzzi comes here. Where does he fit in?

Not to mention the guy is a huge scumbag.

Why? Because you say hes a top 10 player in the league? On the Sabres roster right now, there isn't even a top 20 player. Its about chemistry.

Hands down he'd be our #1 right winger. That being said, you'd never get him straight up for Biron. Coose a token RW in a package and he fits right in.

63games 21goals 34assists 55points

doesn't seem like a top 10 talent, but i think he needs a fresh start. Send them biron maybe a gaustad and a defensmen for bertuzzi and a defensmen

the canucks have no D-men. They will need Defense in return. It would cost Lydman atleast.

If the Sabres could get Bertuzzi without giving up much in return it would be worth, but I doubt the Canucks are going to give him away. Our best bet is to aquire another defensemen, and let the rest of the season play out with what we've got.

I would rather have Tkachuk, he is under contract next season for 3.8 million.

I still don't understand how people can say certain players, in this case Bertuzzi, would be bad for team chemistry. A lot of you seem to toss that in on any scenario.

And how exactly do you know how a guy would fit in? The guy made one mistake and he's a huge scumbag? Please. Get a clue.

The Sabres lack exactly what he is: a dominate physical force down low. He'd be a perfect fit for this team.

Talent and past performance clearly show he's easily a top 10 player in the league. But the real reason he's a top 10 guy is just how rare he is. He's the best power forward in the game, it's not even close. And how many power forwards are in the league right now? 4-5?

He's a rare talent at power forward that any team would kill to have..

Exactly, just mindless babble that makes no sense. People need to back up their statements with some facts, instead of just voicing their uneducated opinions..

With his previous history aside, he would be a force, and is the type of player the sabres like, a gritty hard working forward. It would be nice having him on the Best powerplay in the NHL. I wouldn't mind see him in a Sabres JErsey.

Wouldn't disrupting team chemistry be the case every year a team makes a few deadline deals for the postseason run?

Is it hard to ask for educated posts on here? Seems too often that people have diarreah of the fingertips and constipation of the brain.

If we were to acquire Bertuzzi.. we would have to trade Biron, a forward (Pyatt, Paille, Mair, Grier) to get him. Good idea but maybe not worth it in the end because what we need is a solid top-4 defenseman to anchor this defense. How long will it take before Teppo or Fitzpatrick to breakdown. If we move Biron it will have to be for a very good defenseman that is either old with 1-2 years left on a big contract (Sabres have tons of cap room) or a young guy that has some promise.

When did Bertuzzi become the best power forward in the game or one of the top 10 players in the game?

Iginla is the best power forward in the game at his peak.
