Over the past few days, I've been reading various rumors regarding who the Bills may make a play for in Free Agency. I have come across the following names, based on several newspapers including the Buffalo News and some speculation off of BBI.com:

RT Jon Runyan (connections to Modrak/Eagles)
DT Ryan Pickett (connections to Kollar/Rams)
DE Kalimba Edwards (connections to Jauron/Lions)
QB Jamie Martin (connections to Fairchild/Rams)
S Ryan Clark
DT Rocky Bernard
WR Antwaan Randle El

I'm sure there are many more rumors and speculation out there. Continue posting what you here or find. The guys listed above don't make me jump out of my shoes, but some are intriguing: Bernard, Clark, Runyan, Randle El, and Edwards.

If I had to make a guess at which one above is most likely to land here, I'd say Runyan, Edwards, and Clark all have decent shots.

One thing I'd like to say is that the Bills need to steer away from connections and go with the unknown for a change. The Donahoe Era was all about connections and it resulted to be a dismal failure.

Fantasy News
News: The Bills could be interested in free agent DT Ryan Pickett.
Impact: Pickett is an under-the-radar factor in the free agency market. He played for Bills defensive coordinator Perry Fewell in the past. Buffalo needs a tackle or two after cutting Sam Adams. (Fri. Mar 3, 2006)
And He Played For Kollar, Strong Possibility

If the Bills sign Pickett, Bernard, and Edwards that would be a match for the defense we want to run and wouldnt be that expense.

It would open the door for Huff or Davis.

I'm pretty optimistic that the Bills can fill the voids left by free agency. Lets get this CBA hammered out and get on with football again. We know this for sure gentleman, the Bills will at the very least give us something to talk and in this case type about.

We'll be in perfect shape if the cap gets sent up to 105 Mil. with EMO gone we got like 25-30 Mil.

since we are getting rid of all our veterans, and probably not going to compete next season, i will only be in favor of either waiting till next year to go on a Free Agent splurge or Sign young free agents that will be here for a long time when we will compete again.

Pickett is OK; Runyan is too old; let's get some decent youth.

He will be too expensive IMHO. But I sure would love to see him in a Bills uni next season.

We don't need a right tackle we need a LT how about Brad Hopkins from the Titans. It is eveident to me the Moulds wants out of Buffalo,
"happy trails to you"..he is not worth 6 million a year.

If I'm not mistaken, I think Hopkins has had character issues in the past. I doubt we look at him. I think this team may try converting Peters to LT.

I don't think Randall El is a particularly good fit for the Bills. He would not replace Eric Moulds. He would be more of a replacement for Josh Reed/Jonathon Smith, albeit much better than those guys. The problem is he doesn't really fill a need. He merely adds competition in an area where Buffalo already has players. My thought is, fill needs first.

Two offensive signins I would like to see are Runyan and Joe Jerevicious.

Veteran guys who have both been there before. These would be valuable signings in terms of adding some leadership to what is most certainly going to be a youthful team.

Is Randel-El really any better that Roscoe Parrish will be? They are similar players: both former QBs (Parrish in H.S.) and both smaller slot-receivers only. Randel-El is more experienced, but Parrish is much faster and probably at least as quick.

I say let's see what Parrish can do in the slot and as a punt returner. Draft Vernon Davis and/or find an inexpensive vet to replace Moulds.

can some one tell me about Clark? I dont know much about him. Also, is Adam Archuleta a FA?

John Runyan would take care of offensive tackle for at least a few years. If Buffalo wanted to pick up another developmental guy for tackle they could, but they wouldn't feel pressured to draft an OT on day one.

KFFL is reporting this morning that the Bills could have interest in TE Matt Schobel.

Think of it like this, if the salery cap stays the same, there will be more top talent available. Teams will have to purge their rosters to get under the cap, so us being 12-14 mil already under. We look real good.

I'm all for getting younger too. I'd can't fight the notion of having a Indy West with Evans, Everett, Davis, and Parrish. Only thing is, it'll take 7 yrs.

Aaron's brother... speculation based on connecting the dots IMO.

Jurevicous, Pickett and Runyan sound great, Then draft Vernon Davis in the first, The Florida State DT in the second and Whitner from Ohio State in the third. That would be a great start.
