You are confused. Lafontaine was the guy that made Mogilny score 76 goals.

Mogilny was the POS that wasn't dedicated (smoking?) and floated once he got his big contract.

Patty was the complete, hardworking player who gave everything he had and was playing through his concussion until others noticed something wasn't right. He kept playing, even though he could have collected his money at home. He was extremely talented, had a work ethic more impressive than his talent and was classy on and off the ice.

Didn't get us past the second round? You fail to remember that Mogilny never got the Sabres out of the first round. It was Lafontaine who set up May for May Day, and broke the decade of playoff futility.
