I see the Raiders taking Young and the Bills getting to decide between Ngata, Davis and Huff. The only change I would make to that draft is the Titans taking D'Brick and the Jets taking Cutler.

I'd be real happy with any of them, but Davis may be real special and would probably help the offense more than any other single player in the draft. I'd still take D'Brick over him, but an o-line is only as good as it's weakest link, a great TE can in many ways completely transform an offense. See - KC & San Diego for example. Especially considering the fact that JP rolls and scrambles right so many times. Davis will be able to turn the dump off release into huge gainers and will force linebackers on the strong side to stay back in coverage instead of blitzing.

No, Ive been going there for awhile. I also like http://www.draftboardinsider.com/, but they havnt updated since the combine.

As for the TE rankings, that was awhile ago, like when the college season started.

Also, Davis is the best TE prospect ever. Atleast Ive never seen one better with better physical ability.

What about Davis' height Answer? Does that worry you at all?

6'2 with a 42 inch verticle? Nope.

All Im hoping is we get one of these 8 potential star players. All of these guys are top 5 picks in any other draft, but they all happen to be in the same draft, and we happen to have the 8th pick.

Bush, Leinart, Brick, Young, Hawk, Huff, Davis, and Mario Williams.

I just dont know how we could pass on one of these players, especially when our only impact players are on special teams.

I just dont see the Raiders taking Young

Davis is more partial to QB's who can throw the deep ball and that is def not one of Youngs strong points

No it is not but AD also loves explosive impact players and VY was that in college. He has Vick-like scrambling ability and a more accurate arm, this will probably tempt Davis more than the lack of a big arm.

Just in terms of physical ability, Ben Watson is/was close. He did a 4.44 (running down Champ Bailey proved his speed to me) and a 40" vertical. He also benched 75 more lbs. (535 to 460). I'm still surprised he lasted til the bottom of the first.

Davis showed alot more production in college though.

Thats what I mean.

Watson was a workout guy. Davis is a Workout and production guy.

Watson was considered something of an underachiever in college.

How many catches did our TE have last year????????

Not enough!
Our TE's were non-existant, hope Everett is ready to go.

I don't think it was the TEs fault either. remember our coach was a TE specialist. Brad Cieslak looked good last year.

Watson wasn't an underachiever he was just unjury prone. NE took him not only for his athleticism but also intelligence leadership and toughness. I wanted him if he fell to round 2 real badly.

If we did get Davis, it would enable us to run a nice looking 2 TE set like the Patriots. with Davis and Everett (assuming he plays well) dominating the middle and the speed of evans and parrish on the outside, we'd really haev some options.

8. Buffalo Bills – Vernon Davis - TE - Maryland
Buffalo needs players on both lines. But no offensive lineman is worth this pick and I think Davis could get the nod over Haloti Ngata. Value wise, Davis is the better pick and while Buffalo has some serviceable TEs, they don't have anyone to create the matchup problems Davis can. With the impending loss of Eric Moulds, the team could use another target.

You see SF getting Hawk. Like I said. IHO.
