View Full Version : Look for Levy/Modrak to Trade Down

I think he knows that we're not in a position to get one of the ELITE players in the draft, and the way we are cutting and the way the Salary Cap is looking, don't expect us to fill the holes through Free Agency.

I can see us trading down once or even twice to draft at least 6-7 times on the first day. This would allow Levy to put his own mark on the team with his young players, and on the cheap.

And look for them keep a good portion of our cap space, and then with next year getting back almost 10-12 million in dead cap (that is if we cut Moulds), we will have a young team locked up through the draft with nearly 20 million in free cap space, and if a new CBA gets done it coudl be as high as 30 million. That is the ideal situation and I think Levy has this vision as well.

That's assuming that we can get someone to trade up for our picks.

Without a new CBA, teams might not want to sign bigger money into higher first round graft choices without knowing the finical ramifications of the move.

I'd like that a lot. Filling holes through the draft is something that has to be done with the cap these days. TD did a horrible job at that and hopefully that's something that Marv can improve.

Well a possiblity in which I like is Denver. They have two 1st rounders in the bottom half of the 1st. They will have to pay both draft picks, and they might fall in love with a guy in the top 10.....like Vernon Davis, which I think would be awesome for them, considering their WR corps and the fact they just cut their best TE. With a team like the Broncos, they are pretty well built and just looking for the final piece, so having two 1st doesn't do much for them, especially if they can get a top 10 player to make them flat out better.

The trade down theory seems all fine and good but it's not as easy as everyone thinks. as stated you have to find trade partners. Once will be tough enough let alone twice.

and the broncos were 17 million over the cap and just cut mike anderson, trevor pryce, and jeb putzier

they are going to let gerard warren go

they aren't going to move up in the first to add more salary for them to cut

like all teams, the broncos have some needs, safety, te, ol, dl, wr

It makes sense

All in All I think the Bills are a lot more willing to trade down then to trade up.

If I'm them I either stay at 8 or move down I would not really consider trading up

If there aren't going to be any elite players available at #8, then why would a team want to trade up? The only way we get a team to move up is if one of the elite players falls for some reason and IS available when we pick.

There is no Elite player that suites our needs. The draft is all about perspective, one GM's 10th ranked player is another GM's 20th.

Vernon Davis is elite and some team might consider Ngata elite too, just because we don't want/need, doesn't mean a team won't trade up to grab one of them.

If we can't trade down, why not trade up and get an impact LT?
