After reading what some scouts are saying after surfing a lot of sites on the Internet I am starting to get the feeling we are going to trade our pick if the right deal comes along. After the "Brick" some scouts feel that all the rest of the offensive lineman are 2nd and 3rd calibre although from the combine reports Justice is really coming on strong. They are not saying that these guys are not good prospects but they aren't worth a 1st round choice. Same goes for the defensive line after Williams . If what they're saying is true ,trading down say about the middle of the pack makes sense. There are some teams that are looking for that one player to fill a need and if so we may be able to pick up their first round pick and a 2nd or 3rd depending on how much they want our pick.
After the first 10 or 12 picks it gets very sketchy and the the next level of players could go deep into the 3rd or 4th round.
So if an immediate impact player like the Brick or Williams is not there at 8, I say trade down. That's not saying Nagata is not worth the pick , I just think we'd be better off with more choices and fill DT with FA's
With what happened today (Adams ,Milloy, and more to come )it looks like Levy is taking the team in a different direction. He wants speed on defense not bulk.
If this CBA gets worked out I look for us to be very active in free agency .
The Bills should be about $20 + million in cap room if they cut Moulds or if he reworks his contract a little less. He stands to count a little over $5 million against the cap if we cut him but if we rework his contract for around $5 million nothing is lost.
Levy is 80+ years old , he is not about to start building for the future. As George Allen said "The Future is Now". And if the front office doesn't make big strides the fans will not support them after the Donahoe Debacle.
So like I said if they can come up with a new CBA I look for the Bills to sign at least 6 quality ,not over the hill, free agents to fill immediate needs and get as many draft picks as they can with possible trades.
And it starts in the trenches.
How does a #1 ,(2) #2's ,(2) #3's sound .

This purge that just happened today, definetly opens up a bunch more scenarios that could happen. The most suprising was Malloy, and actually I was pretty suprised Adams was cut as well. Cutting Campbell was a great move, a mediocre to a below average TE at best. I actually thought Moulds would of been cut today, but who knows he may be cut tomorrow.

With these moves, Tim Anderson and Justin Bannan are the starting DT's. YAY

Coy Wire is the starting SS? Someone posted earlier that Baker would take Malloy's spot, but isn't Baker a FS?

It definately changes things draft wise. I personally didn't think the Bills would trade down, but NOW, it is at least a 50 - 50 chance if not better.

Yeah, its great that we don't have one starting DT on the team. Next years run D should be real fun to watch.

Still have Free Agency and the Draft yet. But if Anderson and Bannan are the starters come September..... BAD BAD BAD

they should wear doorman outfits and escort RBs through the middle, for all the good they would do as starters

I was really suprised to hear that Adams got cut. I thought that we would keep him and get another DT in the draft, but now we will have to seriously go after some FA. Trading down in the draft could be a possibility if we get some of the needs taken care of in FA.

Come on guys, do you really think that they will leave our D-line like that? They are not gonna cut all these players and not bring anyone in. Give it time....

hey now . . . look on the bright side . .can it get any worse? bottom line, we needed to purge our roster of some big name used-to-could-play guys(LOL) . . .milloy was never the saftey that he was with the pats . . .and sam . . .let's face it, has some motivational issues. dude half-assed it more than mike williams . . which is pretty hard to do.

There are a bunch of teams with high payrolls that will be dropping players that will be cheaper and better than these guys. I hope we pick 3 or 4 high priced good guys before the draft, trade down our 1st, and wisely use our 5 picks in the first 3 rounds.

I thinkk the Bills will definitely be open to a trade down, but it has to be the right deal. The cutting of Milloy and Campbell will tend to increase the chances that the Bills stay at #8 though because that creates needs at SS and TE. There are 2 very good potential draftees who may be sitting there waiting for a call who happen to match those new needs; Sam Huff and Vernon Davis.

Adams no great loss only showed up to play once a year. The big question is who they get to replace him. They do not have the answer on the roster.
