Name: Michael Huff
Positon: Safety
College: Texas
Height: 6'1
Weight: 200 LBS.
40 Time: 4.3

Pros: Has a knack for finding the ball, great tackler, has great range, he can play either S or CB but should play S in the pros, can deliver the big hit; is great coming on blitzes closing well on the QB, great athlete with good change of direction ability and acceleration to recover; is a playmaker.

Cons: Some teams do not like 'tweeners' as they feel the player won't find its true position.

I know many people want Vernon but the fact of the matter is that we need this guy, we need a player who can hold down half the field, and will make an imediate impact (not that Vernon woldn't) We still have Everett so I think it's clear we need this guy.

Huff, McGee, Clements, and Vincent make a pretty incredible secondary to be sure.

Huff would be a great draft pick.

Personally, I think we should have cut Vincent and kept Milloy, but either way I'd be OK with this pick. Impact player, IMHO.

Really? What has Euhus shown that can make people think this? Nothing. Not to mention if your planning on Eevverett coming in here and dominating you've lost your mind, not to mention the fact he's basically going to be a rookie, he's coming off a major knee injury. If Moulds is cut, TE is most definately a need. Not so much if E-Mo is kept.

I'm done speculating with our draft pick, we can all guess but nothing is going to be a "good guess" until we see what this team does in Free Agency. Following that we will have a better idea as to what we will need and who we will draft

While I think there are worse picks out there I still think that, A lineman O or D is where we need to go. A huge hole in both lines isn't something we can just ignore. I don't understand how people can be so dense and ignore it.

This pick would make more sense than a TE. Something tells me that we will be going DL first. The new regime has said from the get go that they are going to rebuild the lines and now we only have to DT under contract. That will change by draft day, but this dosn't look like a big draft for the DL.
The FA crop also looks deeper at OL.
Who knows, we have so many holes just throw a dart.

Huff would be nice, but you know what would be nicer, if we would have picked Roy Williams instead of Mike Williams 4 years ago.

Or maybe we could have taken Tom Brady in the first instead of Flowers.

This hindsight crap is getting old.

Get over it.

I was pretty pissed off that day. I thought the sting would go away when Fat Mike was cut, but it's actually worse with nothing to show for that day but dead $ on the books.

I'd rather take Darnell Bing!

Erik Flowers. Man, there's a name I didn't want to remember.

Damn right! He's a true SS and he could be had in the 3rd, probably. I heard Mayock the other day theorizing that Huff ran himself right into CB position and $. I think he is more of an NFL FS anyway, and we already have Baker. Hopefully he's ready to step up.

In the cover-2, the role of strong safety and free safety are similar. We'd need a safety with coverage skills.

I am thinking the same thing. He sounds more like a FS. He is not very big to be playing SS for an entire career. Go after Bing if we have to draft a SS.

Exactly - This IS who we should draft. Get a playmaker with a top 10 pick, not a run of the mill DT with a pick that high... We need a young S to come in a be good right away.

Sign a couple middle of the road DT's. and Imporove the OL the best you can in 1 year. Draft a starting OG in the 2nd and sign another vet lineman to help up front.

There will be plenty Vet Centers out there to come in an back-up/compete w/ Preston for the satrting job and we could use the dept on the OL regardless.

Everyone's gotta remember that we're rebuilding right now (again) and we're not going to fill every need in 1 season. Next year could be the year of the LT with Gandy's contact running out (and he didn't play that bad, esp. if you could put better talent around him.)
