1. Houston Texans - Reggie Bush*, RB USC
If the Texans don’t trade down they‘ll use this pick on Bush. They already have a decent back in Dominick Davis, but Bush can do so many more things… return punts, play the slot receiver, etc.

2. New Orleans Saints - Matt Leinart, QB USC
Matt Leinart? Vince Young? Jay Cutler? It doesn’t matter as long as it isn’t Aaron Brooks!

3. Tennessee Titans – D‘Brickashaw Ferguson, OT Virginia
The Titans still have a lot of rebuilding to do, and while quarterback Vince Young is a strong possibility, an anchor for their offensive line who could start immediately makes more sense.

4. New York Jets – A.J. Hawk, OLB Ohio State
Adding Hawk would give new head coach Eric Mangini two playmaking linebackers to build his 3-4 defense around.

5. Green Bay Packers – Mario Williams*, DE North Carolina State
A consistent pass rush would do wonders for the development of their young secondary and Mario Williams is the best defensive end in college football.

6. Oakland Raiders – Haloti Ngata*, DT Oregon
The Raiders won’t be tempted by Young or Vanderbilt quarterback Jay Cutler here simply because Al Davis likes Andrew Walter. Look for the Raiders to grab a playmaker on defense in the first round.

7. San Francisco 49ers – Michael Huff, DB Texas
The 49ers have a lot of holes and they could look at a guy like Texas defensive back Michael Huff because of his versatility to play cornerback or safety.

8. Buffalo Bills – Vernon Davis*, TE Maryland
If Eric Moulds leaves during the offseason, the Bills could use another receiver, but none is worth picking this high. Davis would be a big upgrade at tight end and would help by drawing some attention in the passing game.

1. Wrong
2. Wrong
3. Wrong

1. Young could fall as far as #7
2. I'm hoping we can land Mario Williams or D'Brickashaw Ferguson. If both are gone, I'd like to see us move down to take Brodrick Bunkley. However, if both of those guys are gone and we can't find a willing trade partner, Vernon David might be appealing. We really don't have a playmaking TE, and I'm still not high on Kevin Everett (I am a Hurricanes fan and have been for over 10 years now). Davis is drawing rave reviews and is being touted as the next Antonio Gates. Don't get me wrong though; I'm all for improving the OL and DL first and foremost. This pick will depend on what we do in free agency.
3. Titans rank the 3 QBs in the following order IMO: Cutler, Leinart, Young. I think D-Brick is above Young on their list.

Did Vince Young die while I wasn't looking?

According to NFL Total Access at the Combine, the new head coach for the Saints it totally smitten with Jay Cutler. If the GM feels the same way, maybe they will buck the consensus of the way the draft board looks. It would be wierd to see Lienart drop all the way to the Jets. If the Titans were to go with QB, they would have a tough choice. Leinart has a connection with Norm Chow, but Young has connections too, particularly with Steve McNair.

If D'Brick is not drafted by the Titans, he could easily drop out of the top 5.

Im with you on this one.

This is how I see this draft shaping up for us and Im really happy.

Raiders will not pass on Vince Young. Ngata to the 49ers fits that 3-4 defense and Hawk to the Packers fits.

I think the Jets get a QB via trade, like Ramsey.

I love mock drafts. Mel Kiper, Jr. has started an entire cottage industry. Mock drafts are fun to make and look at but arguing over them is silly.

No, but not working out at the combine with Cutler not only working out, but putting 225 up 23 times, and running a 4.77 40, and Young scoring a massive MASSIVE 6 on the Wunderlich test, he may fall. But its the draft, and a crap shoot, so who knows, but if Williams is there for the Bills at 8, that pick just has to be made.

I don't see any way only 1 qb will go in the first 7. Jets and Raiders both need qbs badly, and the Titans also need one, not as bad though. I think the niners might grab Deangalo Williams. They need a playmaker badly. I doubt Mario Williams drops to 8, but that would be nice.
