Haven't bowled in a league since oh man, it will be ten years this summer.
In fact, I haven't even thrown a bowling ball in five years.

My main house was Parkside Lanes here in NT. (even worked there for a year or so-yeah working at an alley didn't even help my average!.) Also bowled at Tonawanda Bowling Center and Delaware Lanes.

My highest average was only 155 or so-I was usually the person who gave our team some handicap so we have a chance to win some games.

Highest game was 279 which took place during my highest series total-750. (Unfortunately for me that week our league had two people bowl 300 and one of them had around a 855 series. So my thunder was stolen as usual.)

I did bowl a no tap 300 (although it took quite a few 9's to get it.) In fact the other two members of my team in that "No Tap" tournament got no tap 300's that game and we wounded up winning the tournament.

Yeah I got trophies for winning leagues etc (mainly because my teammates were awesome bowlers! remember I was the handicap dude!) but the one thing I wished I did was really make my high school bowling team. (I wasn't a great bowler than and you had to be a 160 or higher average to make our school's team.) My senior year, despite having an awesome three days or so of bowling (IMO), I was one of the last ones to be cut. Some of my friends who made it thought I was robbed and convince the coach to let me bowl with them whenever they had practice or whenever they had home matches-thus bowling with the subs. I even got a "jersey" to wear during the home matches - so I was like part of the team even though I never was official.

As a nice jesture, the coach for the last home match put me on the "C" team. Only "A"-"B" team matches counted towards the results. "C" team members were allowed to replace anyone on "A"-"B" if they were doing bad. The coach made some changes but because I didn't bowl enough games as member of the "C" team, I wasn't eligible to be moved to either the "A" or "B" team. (I think you had to bowl at least 10 games, I had none.) Probably was better I wasn't eligible as I wasn't bowling that great that day anyway if I remember right. All the extra practice was very useful for me as my average improved 15 pins in the Saturday afternoon league I was in at the time.

I just started bowling last summer. I basically taught myself to throw a hook, and got my average up to around 170, then my dad recommended i change my line, so I'm back down to 150-160. I figured I should listen to him cause its hard to argue with his 300 for a high game;). My high is 232.

well u can change your line about 3-4 or 5 times a game i start out with one but u have to ajust to the lane conditions with means if it oiley move right and for dryer lanes stay right thats if u are a righty oppisite for leftys any home and it depends what kinda of ball u are useing also but changeing your line is nothing it's easy but changeing your style or even changeing your relese will bright your avg down ... but any ways good luck guys
