Over or Under 20 HR's for Piazza this year in San Diego?

I say under, his time is done, and he's in a bigger park now.

I DEFINITELY say under- Petco is a horrible park for the longball. Ask Brian Giles and Ryan Klesko about their declining totals!

Piazza will pretty much fill the former roll of Phil Nevin on the Padres, without the third base. I think hell hit around 15 homers and bat .260. But I think he made a mistake in not going to the AL because he misses on the opportunity to DH with a good team, which is probably the best position for him at this point in his career. But id definitely say under.

I'd have to say Under.

And even though I'm a Mets fan, I never really liked Piazza. Ever since he felt the need to respond to those allegations of him being gay with a ****ing press conference, I haven't liked Piazza. I mean, come on, dignifying some rumor about your sexuality with a press conference? That's pretty damn gay. In fact, that press conference basically confirms to me that Piazza is in fact a closeted homosexual.

Interesting comments...I bet you're in the distinct minority of mets fans who does not like Piazza. He gave the franchise credibility in the late 90's and was always a stand up guy. Yet you are mad at how he handled a rumor of his sexual orientation. Why does that matter?

Under...Petco is a killer and he hasn't been a legit hitter since 2002. Age and all those years catching have taken their tole on him. Best of luck Mike.

Don't get me wrong, when Piazza was up to bat, I wished him the best. He was, after all a Met, and a pretty good one to boot.

I wouldn't call the man a "stand up guy." I met him, and had the chance to talk with all the mets at one point, and he completely blew me off, muttering something i didn't catch under his breath. I know thats not enough to base whether i like/dislike him, but its not the first i've heard about him being a jackass, and probably won't be the last. For God's sake i hope the man hits less than ten home runs this year, and i know for sure he won't get over 20
