I'm still waiting for that first idiot to show up and say that nobody should feel bad for him if his career is finished.

Horrible.
But funny isn't it how the tackle (hit) looked very average, as far as that stuff goes. Yet, some guys get bent like pretzels every play and still come out just fine.
You just can never tell when these things are going to occur.

I'm hoping that Palmer comes back stronger than ever. He was breathing some fresh life to a team that hasn't seen any bright days in 10 years.

Yeah, I don't know why, but I was kinda hopin the Bengals would make a run this year. Maybe cause they're one of the few teams we beat in 2006.:wink4:

In not like the guy was known for his running ability. Slap a brace on it and he's a pure pocket passer anyway. He'll be back no problem, he'll just have to develope a quicker release.

But if he can barely walk, it's all moot.
This is terrible... that kid is a real talent, and I feel awful for those fans.

Man the Bengals fans have got to feel like **** right now. They finally found a franchies QB who got them back into the playoffs and were going to be competitive and now this. I hope Palmer can return to playing in the future.

Why are so many playing taps for Carson? McGahee was hurt worse than Palmer and he seems to be getting around just fine--and Palmer doesn't even have to run to play well.
Palmer had a serious injury but a fixable one. Because shredded ligaments can be replaced with donor tissue now, it's been successfully repaired. If he does his rehab properly you'll see him on the field next year with no ill effects.
As for the surgeon--that's another story. Palmer has to be very annoyed with the way Paulos behaved after the operation--particularly calling a successfully repaired injury potentially career ending. Athletes l-o-v-e hearing that kind of stuff. After working in anonymity for the U.S. Ski Team for several years, he couldn't resist grabbing some limelight with the hope of riding a high profile client to more work and bigger paychecks. I have a feeling it will accomplish just the opposite as most athletes don't like every stich and cut enthusiastically described to the national media where the people who will judge what to pay them and whether to sign them will hear all of this gloom and doom rhetoric.

Perhaps everyone missed this... "The damage was much more extensive and severe, but Dr. Lonnie Paulos said surgery went well and Palmer could be back for the start of the season."
