An employee at the Anchor Bar was robbed at gunpoint Monday while trying to deliver a bag of cash and checks to the bank, police said. Buffalo police said the victim was confronted by a masked man displaying a black long-barreled gun at about 10:30 a.m. when he was just steps away from the landmark city restaurant at 1047 Main St.

I don't think this was a professional robbery.
I think it was an amateur who was winging it.

I'd question the employee, could be an inside job.

Robbing the Anchor bar is like spray painting the Lincoln Memorial. It just ain't done. Hope they catch the guy and put the screws to him. You don't rob an icon.

Deposit bag robberies are usually inside jobs, i.e. the guy making the deposit puts a buddy up to it and they split the proceeds.

It was Monday right? It was their Weekend receipts, so they knew what they were hitting. On a side note, anyone who uses their Bleu Cheese for anything other than celery or carrots, they're disgracing the spicy soul of Buffalo. And if you must dip your wings, Get Your Own Damn Cup!!! :D

Yeah, the amount I heard was $32,000. I'm betting it was a former employee who knew when deposits were made and the when the deposit was going to be large.
I once had a job delivering product to restaurants and would usually end the day with $5000 in cash and another $5000 in checks in my pocket.

Must be an inside job----why else would the robber know that they were bringing the $ to the bank at 10:30 am.
No descriptions of a get away car? Sounds strange.
