Saw this sight in my travels this morning...

...he's sitting on the Eggert road on-ramp to the 33 headed east toward the airport. They do that allot...hide on the on ramps. I guess now that it's been decided that the town of Cheektavegas isn't getting a casino they need to generate income some how.

CRACKDOWN GETS UNDER WAY ON KENSINGTON EXPRESSWAY

Starting today , police are conducting an intense, three-day crackdown on aggressive drivers on the Kensington Expressway in Cheektowaga, including targeting suburban motorists who are heading into the city and back home during rush hour.

The blitz begins this morning and continues until Thursday night along the three-mile portion of the Kensington from Genesee Street, near the airport, to Eggert Road at the city line. The initiative is by the New York State Police.

that is the funny part of traffic enforcement, you dont have to hide at all. i sometimes park right at four way stops and people will blow through them. they never even see me. if you are driving with your head so far up your ass you cant see a cop in broad daylight, you deserve the cite.

MPW, I have many cop buddies, the stories they tell me shake my head that such idiots are allowed to drive. I drive a fairly high truck so I can look down on people, not to mention drive around for work in the city. I see things that many many people wouldn't believe are happening in autos going down the road.

that is actually one of the good things about motorcycle cops. while they are less visiable, the real bueaty of them is they can see stuff much better.

Our Cycle cops park along the media of the freeway during rush hour and stand on the cement devider and look into people cars to see who's violation the HOV law. HOV meaning high occupancy vehicle lane, 2 adults or more, many people drive it solo and that's a $500 fine of not more.

Hov enforcement is a big deal here as well, and it probably should be. If you dont enforce it it gets abused. What do you think of HOV lanes? I dunno that i like them

I dont care for them as not many people use them, theyve been here for several years and they look very very under used. The freeways here in Phoenix, I17, is land locked so they cant expand them wider, this is the main FRWY going through the heart of the city, 10 lanes with HOV.

I think they work when you have enough lanes to allow decent traffic during rush hour, but when you have grid lock and two open HOV lanes, 1 each way, empty, not too good of an idea.

Here, the HOV's are only 2 people plus from 6am to 9am then again from 4 to 7pm. The other hours it's the HIGH SPEED lane.

seems like 1 hov lane would be better

Thats what I meant, sorry. We have on in each direction on the divided FRWY.

not alot of motorcycle patrols because of the weather but during the summer yea we have some in WNY.

the favorite now is the slicktop camaro most people would never think of it as a radar car and then they have the chase cars lined up not to far away.

Anyone who goes to Fredonia knows the Silver Creek overpass too. One day when I was going to college I went by and noticed a car just parked on the overpass, I didn't think anything of if but as I was passing under it I happened to look up and sure enough he was a cop with a radar gun. As soon as I got by the on ramp I saw at least 6 state troopers. 6! Four parked on the ramp and 2 had pulled people over.

I thought that was a little overboard, even for speed traps.

lol that was a classic SP saturation patrol

when they did the speed crackdown on rt 441 in rochester the sps had 8 chase cars and 2 running laser

I love it when you see a cop and then you slow down its not like they see you speeding. THat is scary though i take that way everyday
