it was this forum.
I know, but now its that forum..... i guess my point is you can't have the politics forum be about only buffalo cause I'd say the majority of posters who do post in here aren't even from buffalo....
Pete, Sukie, Nehe, MPW, Shiva, myself, Coastal, and lots of others come to mind...

Sounds fun. There are lots of religious movements that began, to some extent, in WNY
1. Jemima Wilkinson (early 1800’s) said she died and came back to life as a savior for mankind. But eventually she died again & her followers waited patiently for another resurrection. Apparently, however, she just rotted and they gave up.
2. Charles Finney (1830) led a powerful revival in Rochester and later Buffalo and still has places in WNY named after him.
3. Mormonism (1830) was begun by Joseph Smith in upstate NY. That's where he found the book of mormon.
4. Millerites (1831) were followers of William Miller who predicted the return of Jesus in 1844. But it didn't happen so he switched to 1845. It was a 'great disappointment'. His descendants include the wackos from Wacco later on.
5. The Oneida Community (1840)
6. Fox Sisters, Lily Dale (1848)

I was thinking about separting them back to where they were before. We thought that with the two combined more people would be interested in Buffalo/WNY related things but that doesnt seem the case and Buffalo related threads are quickly lost due to the PRS world things. So, I'll probably change it back to how it was.

Done. WE did some major reshuffling today, we have so many forums that are busy that it gets crazy sometimes.
