The Sabres know they have a hot commodity in having three capable goalies, but a change may be coming sooner rather than later.
According to the Toronto Sun, third-string goaltender Mika Noronen is frustrated at the lack of playing time, and yesterday called on Sabres management to alleviate the glut of bodies between the pipes.
"It's a bad situation," Noronen told the Sun. "I'm just hoping they can figure out something and make a move.
"It's not good for anybody, especially for me because I'm not even in the lineup and I'm not playing. It's almost Jan. 1 and I just want something to happen because I want to play this game again."
Noronen, who has played in just four games this season, insists he holds no grudges against Marty Biron and Ryan Miller.
"Those are good guys," he said. "I'm really happy for them right now. They're playing well and I have to be happy for them.
"But at the same time, I can't be happy for myself. I'm trying not to show it but hopefully something changes."
The Colorado Avalanche, Edmonton Oilers and Vancouver Canucks are all in the market for help in the net, and it is believed all three have interest in both Noronen and Biron.
