I thought this game was incredible, A tie was the fair result. End to end action all night. Season series tied at one a piece. Can't wait until the next game.

I didn't see the game, both my kids were on the ice tonight, but it sound like it was a good one.

I'm heading to Ottawa right after the kids get out of power skating tomorrow morning to see the Sens vs the Islanders at the Corel Centre.

Go Isles!

Yep! The outcome was disappointing but there were 7 people in my house all yelling and screaming right up to the final shot. Three of them never watch hockey and had a BLAST watching this game with us...I think they may be back tomorrow night for the Thrashers game. :)

The cool thing is that games like tonight's are becoming the norm. I've watched the majority of 9 games from last night and I'd say that 8 of the games I saw were very entertaining, a few of them were downright awesome.

So far, I'd say the NHL has been very successful in tweaking the game and making it a consistently MUCH more entertaining sport than the past few seasons. You can actually watch the 2 worst teams in a conference play each other and see a GREAT game of hockey.

Yeah that was a good one. Congrats to the Leafs, they looked like they really wanted that game and got it. I still don't think they are a very good team, but they are good enough to get into the playoffs.

Great game. Ruff needs to be more in touch with who's playing well and who isn't. I probably would have gone with:

Connolly
Afinogenov
Pominville

In that order for the shootout.

those were my shootout picks too. I knew Vanek was due for a miss. I was standing up off my couch the entire overtime period. It was pretty exciting. I expected us to win somehow, like we have been but luck can only go so far.

Hahaha...That is awesome, CupCrazy. I love witnessing newcomer's to the game finally realizing what an amazing game hockey is.

I hope you noticed McCabe's giveaway in the final minute of OT. Again, another screwup that isn't measured in the stats.

We lead the series 3 points to 2.

I'd replace Pominville with Vanek, even though his 5 hole attempt looked pretty suckass against the Queefs.

With respect to Afinogenov, he doesn't finish well, but he is amazing on shootouts. I have no idea why Crosby's or Malik's shootout goals are always replayed. The best shootout BAR NONE was Afinogenov's....I forget the goalie at the moment, but Connolly preceded him. Afinogenov's move was so amazing the goalie wound up out of the crease. That is the hockey equivalent of someone getting burned by an Iverson crossover. Crosby and Malik have cute shootouts, but Afinogenov's completely obliterated his opponent.

Cosigned! If I've said it once, I've said it a million times: getting NHL Center Ice this year was the best money I've spent in a while.

yep i did see that giveaway lala , it was horrible. I also that rocket past Biron in the first period. Thats the kind of player he is, he is on the taxi squad for Team Canada so obviously some people with a few more credentials than yourself think he is valuable.

It would be great to see a stellar defencive play by McCabe lose the gold.

I will puke in a sock and mail it to bduff if McCabe wins the Norris. What a disgrace that would be.

No he isn't.

The only reason he's on the team is for the same reason Cujo was on the previous team: Quinn.

49 points, hard to argue against that. the leafs have also one 7 of 8. Thornton was left off for a reason. what happened in 2002 anyway? oh yeah, we won the gold.
