GAME THREAD: 11/25 HABS @ SABRES

Sabres and habs game thread! Time to renew the rivalry! I thought the last 2 times we played was good but we lost, and it's going to pick-up. I think it'll be a good game, and hopefully, intense(even though it's still november) Some pre-game notes: Briere will not play tonight.
Mika may be back Sunday.
Dumont out another week.
Kalinin will sit tonight as we go with 6 D.
Biron will start Leighton is the backup.
I believe at the end it says Peters will be in the lineup.

I would agree but lindy never likes calling up the same guy twice ...I think he goes off the board and if he healthy goes with dan paille ...

The second half of the period was the Biron show, Buffalo half way through the period was outshooting the Habs 11-8, 10-1 the rest of the way.

No way...the Canadiens are really excellent this year but that was a phenomenal effort by the Sabres defense and, especially, Marty Biron.

Some of the saves Marty made tonight were just jaw-dropping, but more importantly, the D-men were there to give him the support he needed. That was the kind of hockey that could win us a Stanley Cup...hope to see a LOT more of it in the future!

Kudos also go to Tim Connolly...he had a hell of game tonight, except for the move where he tried to make a move on the Hab defense instead of shooting. It's SO great to finally see Tim play the way many of us know he can.

Yep, I really liked that play, too...Tim had a great game tonight! If he can stay healthy, he's gonna have a hell of a year!

On the other side of the coin, I'm starting to get very frustrated with Afinogenov. He constantly misses the net...rarely passes...and now he's taking penalties that just kill the team's momentum. Grrrr!

I was at the game, and those freaking chants were there, just not as often as last game. The Sabres having the lead the entire game kind of helped.
