Game time decision.
Also the Noronen injury is minor.

It's a game time decision. I doubt it's the end of his career.

That particular injury won't ruin his career, but if he plays with the injury, it could get worse, and then he is in trouble. You have to be careful with those.

If he's got a hernia, he's out 2-3 months if he gets it fixed right away.

I could've sworn Dumont had the abdominal injury and Briere had the hip bruise.

Briere is day to day and should be back against Montreal. Mika is out about a week.

what about J.P? Good that mika isn't going to be out long, I would like to see leighten play sunday against the caps(I really don't want Biron in anymore, it's getting hard to watch this team knowing he's on)

I have no interest in seeing Leigton...he is a career AHL goalie who is only here because of injuiry. Biron isn't the greatest but he can only do worse.

I think you are forgetting who the last goalie we got from Chicago was :)

Some guy named Hasek or something. I hear he was and is pretty decent?:nutbar:

I think you are forgetting who the last goalie we got from Chicago was :)An older unknown from some country called Czechoslovakia back in an age when scouting wasn't as frequent or worldwide (especially with the Iron Curtain). That's a lot different than some guy from Ontario who's probably been scouted since he was 5.

Just because we traded for a no name goalie from Chicago doesn't mean we need to start throwing Hasek's name around again...Come on.
Hasek was a rare talent that you see on your team once in a lifetime.

Yeah. Hasek was Hasek. I don't want to compare because I don't think leighten will ever bethat good. I would just prefer him over Biron.

When was Belfour drafted?
Unfortunately, we gave up on Roloson too.

When was Belfour drafted?Hmm, I thought he was undrafted...
What does that have to do with anything anyway?

Just that scouts have very little idea how to judge goalies, no matter where they come from. Unlike elite goal scorers, elite goaltenders have tended to come from lower rounds, even today: Roloson, Kiprusoff, Turco.

The amount of scouting they do doesn't really matter, at least with goaltending.

I tend to agree. goaltending is kind of a craft, it all depends on who learns their technique better over the years. Belfour is not an incredible athlete with cat like reflexes but he is great positionally. Marc Andre fleury right now is the complete opposite and he was picked 1st overall.

While I agree Belfour is not a tremedous athlete, I totally disagree about his reflexes. I think that's exactly what exels his game. Belfour has outstanding reflexes.
The perfect example of what you're referring too is Olaf Kolzig.....A guy who is nothing but positional. He'll make 30 saves in a game and they'll all look identical.

cool, yeah kolzig is a good example. Eddies relexes have slowed.
