Now that most have had time to see what you have in JP Losman, do you still feel as if it was the right thing to do at the time. I for one couldn't be more pleased with Julius Jones and Marcus Spears. They possibly could be two guys that could be the cornerstone of the team. But when I look at Losman, I just don't see what I see such as a David Carr or a Carson Palmer. The potential is definitely there, however when I see Losman he reminds me of Kyle Boller from Baltimore. Basically he is still a project, something that many thought at the time when I was here last would be a much better improvement over Bledsoe...
So the question is if you could do it all over again would you?

it's still too early to say if he's a bust, give him a year and then say it. he's barely played a half a season.

So you ask if we still like the Losman trade....then you compare him to Boller, obviously as some sort of negative conotation because Boller sucks.....then you say you just don't see him being like Carson Palmer or DAVID CARR!?!?!?
DAVID ****ING CARR?!?!?! Are you serious..... yeah, you're right he's not like David Carr...he's not gonna get cut in four years from sucking so much ball sack.....
You know what, get the **** out of here...you're an ass-worshipping rimjobber.

If I was a Dallas fan I would be kinda pissed b/c Jackson is way better than Jones will ever be.
I wouldnt count on Jones being your cornerstone. Being a N.D. fan there is one thing you can count on Jones doing and that is getting injured. He really hasnt impressed me that much so far in his short career. Sure he had a couple big games but the rest of his games were avg at best

I think its safe to say that a quarterback is much more important than a running back or defensive end. There are so many GREAT running backs around the league, and a lot of rb's can be great with a good oline. A team lives and dies by the quarterback, as we have seen with bledsoe sucking so horribly here. The quarterback touches the ball every play, a running back touches it at most 35 times a game and a defensive end is involved in even less plays. I'll take a possible franchise qb with all the skills over some overrated running back when there are plenty of good rbs around the leaue

it would have been a great trade for Dallas had they taken Steven Jackson..
Thank God JP will never be the QB David Carr is

I think Dallas would have been smarter to take Losman....Bledsoes honeymoon is ending...hell he didn't do **** against Philly until the very end, and even then it took a bonehead pass from McNabb to win the game for Dallas....
But in short, the trade sucks for Dallas, cause they picked Julius Jones and Marion Barber III is just as good.

But that's the million dollar question, is he a franchise QB?

Come on man get for real, the only reason that David Carr is struggling is not because he's a bad QB but because like Bledsoe he had no protection... Just like Buffalo what have you done to the OL to help the QB? The Texans may want to spend a #1 on the best OLineman coming out because Carr is getting killed...

Brady Quinn for Bills QB in '07!! (The Brady Quinn campaign has begun)
Then the trade really was more beneficial to the Cowboys if your already hoping Quinn will be a Bill...
As far as Jackson and Jones:
10 S. Jackson RB, STL 155 729 4.7 81.0 51 6
29 Julius Jones RB, DAL 120 423 3.5 70.5 25 3
Now considering Julius Jones missed all those games I don't see the difference in stats... Julius is still a quality runner and Spears could be a guy that could give you 10 sacks down the line per year...

'I think its safe to say that a quarterback is much more important than a running back or defensive end.'
I have to totally disagree with you, finding a DE that can cause havoc to a offense is just as important... Yet I wouldn't go so far to say that your one guy is better than 2 combinded players who are both starters... I agree that a QB is very important, but if your talking about some suck arse QB then no... Also there has been several teams that won the Super Bowl with a good defense and running game with a average Joe at QB ala Ravens...

How would it be a good trade and take Jackson if we traded the pick to the Bills? By the time the Cowboys picked again in the 2nd round Jackson was long gone... ????????????

actually watch them both play...its a boy vs a man and the boy is frequently injured. you dont see a difference in stats betweeen 4.7 yards per carry and 3.5?

I think if you put Julius on the Rams and you have the same success... Dallas is a running team first while the Rams are a passing team first... When they do run it comes more as a suprise and you get those big runs... Lets see what they both do come the end of the year and I'll get back with you... Wouldn't suprise me that Julius Jones surpasses Jackson in yards and yards per carry... All I'm saying is that the kicker is a young DE named Spears... That pushes the deal way over in my opinion...

of course you think that you are a Cowboy homer, i have no rooting interest in either team. The fact is Steven Jackson would have even more success if he got the ball twenty times a game like Jones. He is a big punishing back who wears teams down when he gets the rock.

Brady Quinn for Bills QB in '07!! (The Brady Quinn campaign has begun)
I want Quinn here b/c I'm a big N.D. Fan
Losman is starting to look better but if he doesnt progress in the 2006 season I want the Bills to pick Quinn
Then the trade really was more beneficial to the Cowboys if your already hoping Quinn will be a Bill...

If you dont see the difference then your blind. Jones will never be a full time back b/c of his injury problems(this is the major reason he could not be counted on at N.D.). Jackson is a monster who runs behind a line that barley knows how to run block and would rather not given the choice. Jones had a couple big games and that was it, he'll never be more than an avg RB in the NFL

Losman was one of the few bright spots yesterday in San Diego.
He isn't Carson Palmer because he's got athleticism rarely seen this side of Michael Vick.
He isn't David Carr because he looks like he's an NFL player.
I think Losman has shown us that spark over the past two weeks that says yes, this guy has what it takes to be a star.

Additionally, If i were a Cowboy fan, I'd be much more concerned with hoping my team doesn't find a way to sqeak into the playoffs.
Why would they want to sqeak in just to have Blumbo embarrass them against the likes of Chicago and Carolina.
