Atlanta and Edmonton are still talking about a Sabres goalie.

Sabres have begun conversations with the Caps about Witt.

I doubt the Witt thing is too serious.

Source??

insidethecode.blogspot.com from his "insiders" forum

Also says the Kings are going after a Sabres goalie.

The conversations with the Caps have been confirmed, so it's beyond rumor stage.

The Kings arent happy with Garon but I cant see Biron being that much of an upgrade. It would be wonderful to rid his salary though, especially to a Western conference club.

I have an inside source saying that the Cpas are prepared to trade Ovechkin and a 3rd round pick to the Sabres for Rory Fitzpatrick. He's usually right on, and his blog gets tons of hits.

He's also hearing some rumors about the Pens looking to move Crosby's huge contract. You can read more at his website:

Even though this website is crap, it does make a good point in that Regier is likely letting the Oilers and Thrashers (as well as the Kings, IMO) bid up the price for Sabres goaltenders.

The Kings and Thrashers are definitely desperate for goaltending...like, Biron on a bad day would be an improvement. The Oilers, however, are not quite as desperate...Markinnen is playing really well and Ty Conklin will come around as the season goes on, though he can't stop a beachball right now.

As for the Caps...I'd love to pick up Brendan Witt, but I dunno what we'd have to give up in return. I doubt if they're interested in any of our goalies...maybe a forward? Dunno if I'd wanna tinker with our forwards too much just yet.

I wouldn't mind witt. As far as I'm concerned, mckee has been my favorite defenseman thus far. He is tough, physical, and plays a good defensive game. whether you want to believe it or not, that is still apart of hockey. I would take witt. I say move a goalie soon.

Edmonton has made an offer for a Sabres goalie. They are interested in either Biron or Noronen.

Atlanta seems set with either Shields or Potvin holding it down until Lehtonen gets back, so they seem to have dropped out of the picture.

Same source as above. His track record is actually pretty good, keep in mind that talks do not always equal deals.

Really??

Most teams are only interested in Noronen due to the salary difference from Biron. This is one of the few teams that seems to be interested in Biron as well as Noronen.
