Let's hope Doug Janik hasn't been surfing the Buffalo Sabres Web site.
If he has, he'll have a pretty good idea where he stands on the depth chart.
Janik hasn't even been listed on the Buffalo roster, even though no one other than junior players have been cut from training camp.
Oh, well, the fifth-year veteran of pro hockey knew he'd be in for a battle to earn a job in the NHL, even coming off a very solid season with the Rochester Americans.
"You know they have a lot of defensemen but I'd like to think I could put myself into that mix," said Janik, who comes to town with the entire Sabres team for practice tonight (at Thomas Creek Ice Arena in Fairport) and tomorrow morning (at the ESL Sports Centre in Brighton).
