Don't forget that we chose Rob over Flutie b/c he had lower cap numbers. If for no other reason, at least we did ourselves a favor heading into this offseason since we at least have a choice of cutting or keeping instead of being forced to dump Flutie and have no QBs worth starting.
Just a silver lining type of thing. But the cap hit for Flutie would have been even greater not only this past year, but this year too considering that he wouldn't have restructured in all liklihood if his attitude prior to his release is any indicator. He wouldn't have been worth keeping anyway.
