Anyone know what his deal is? He's the only quality UFA defenseman out there. The Islanders just signed brad ludkowich so maybe theyre not interested in him. The rumors sites say he's narrowed it down to four teams but won't say which ones.

I saw the rumors and he was not rumored to be going to Buffalo.

And the other top free agent defensman left is Roman Hamrlik...He is reportedly closer to a deal, that could be rather substantial. Toronto, Detroit, Vancouver, Calgary and Carolina are currently in discussions for Roman.

The talk is that he's asking too much........... $5 mil+.......... and that is why he has not been signed yet.

According to spector's trade rumors, the signing of Hamrlik ..." would likely mean that Toni Lydman, who spent some time in Darryl Sutter's doghouse in 2003-04, could be on his way out of Calgary. "
Calgary needs a backup netminder too. So look for darcy to try to get a defenseman, maybe lydman in exchange for a goalie.
