Looks like they had to cave in to the club. They're the broadcast network for them, and Alou refused to do interviews with them. I guess he could've used better words than "brain-dead Carribeans". :doh:

I caught the comment while driving around. First of all, he did not say "brain-dead Caribbean’s" as in plural, as in all Caribbean’s.<o:p></o:p>

He was adding adjectives to describe a noun. The noun was the hitter. Some of the hitters on the Giants are Caribbean. Some of the hitters swing wildly at pitches.<o:p></o:p>

Some of the hitters who swing wildly, who are also Giant players, happen to be Caribbean.<o:p></o:p>

The Host said "too many brain-dean Caribbean players swinging at slop"<o:p></o:p>

The point being he was not inferring that because they were Caribbean they were brain dead, rather just trying to add descriptive adjectives to the players he was trying to target. It's radio, and you need to use words and adjectives, to create a picture of your thoughts.<o:p></o:p>

Alou is in a tight spot, and took this WAY out of proportion. He said that the host insulted millions of people. No, he was describing the *****ty hitters that play for the Giants. In no way could it have been construed to be a racist comment. The guy got hosed, it's not right.<o:p></o:p>
