When I lived in Toronto from '85-'94, my best buddy's little brother, Craig Brown was a linemate of Carter's on the Wexford Raiders. He used to rack up the points being on Carter's line, but Craig was too small to think about a career in hockey. Man, I loved to go watch those games up in Scarborough...Carter was a physical force.
Carter got drafted, straight out of Wexford (no major junior) and Craig went on to a track scholarship at Indiana State.

I'd be real happy if the Sabres picked up Carter...but we still NEED a defenseman!

Last time I checked, he's not a defenceman.

It might take more than that to get Luongo. However, at the least it gets Florida spending a lot more money on their goaltending.

I know this is off the wall, adn I may get fried for this one but I'm gonna say it anyway. How cool would it look for the Sabres to sign Anson Carter, trade for Georges Laraque from Edmonton, and put the two on a line with Grier. :rimshot:

Depends how cheap Carter comes. I don't think he'd want to come to Buffalo, as he has expressed a desire for larger cities in the past.
Laraque would be a decent acquisition, but it depends on the cost. Laraque, unlike goons like Domi, has some skills. And his role will still be very important.
Mixing lines is appropriate anyway.

thats strange because laraque has never scored as many goals in a season as Domi. and he has never scored more points than domi.

Guys, I was only bringing up Laraque for the idea of an all-black line. It was an attempt at humor, but a lame one I guess. There is no way the Sabres acquire Laraque. I doubt Edmonton is looking to dump him, and I doubt the Sabres would want to give up much of anything for him.

Wrong, liar.

"Even a fire hydrant could score 46 goals playing with Wayne Gretzky.''

Tie Domi TORO R 80 7 13 20 -2 208 895 11.19
Georges Laraque EDMO R 66 6 11 17 7 99 618 9.36
So on a minute by minute basis, Laraque scored more goals and assists than Domi. Laraque doesn't chicken out of fights, unlike your boyfriend. And, Laraque wins all his fights. Oh, and Laraque plays on the 4th line, not with Sundin.
Perhaps you might actually care to watch hockey.

what are you talking about. Laraque had 29 points that is not more than Domis career high in a season. minute by minute? What the hell does that matter.

minute by minute? What the hell does that matter.Duh, Domi plays on the 1st line, Laraque the 4th.

Domi has played on lines that receive more ice time because of the players around him. Laraque hasn't had that benefit. That's the point they're trying to drive home with you.

no what he said is that domi is a goon with no skills. If you watch the guy play you will see he is not an Andrew peters or a Stu grimson, he is great in the corners, and goes to the net hard. He has ability, thats all i am trying to prove here. Laraque is good and probably has ore skill than domi. Does that make Domi worthless?

No, that doesn't mean he's worthless. But you just admitted Laraque is probably a more complete player than Domi. So what are you arguing about?

i am arguin the fact that laraque is not leaps and bounds better than domi like Lala is trying to suggest.

Minute by minute matters because Domi gets more ice time than Laraque, because Domi has played on the first line. Laraque hasn't.
Domi hasn't outscored Laraque in every year, which is what you first claimed.

You really are dating Domi. As Thumper noted, you already have admitted that Laraque is better than Domi. Give it up.
