Many of us remember the night he got his throat cut by an errand skate. It was horrific to watch. People were actually fainting and throwing up at The Aud.
Here it is again. Not posting to be sick or graphic, just thought some members who had never seen it (it was 1989) but heard about it would like to know what happened.
WARNING!!! This video is slightly graphic! (http://www.collegehumor.com/movies/1598546/)
You'll need Windows Media player. It was at this link, then they moved it. So, I hope it's there when you click.

I saw a story on him recently. He's been through a lot since then, including an attempted suicide. So, I was bumping through the net, found the video, and thought I should post it for those who never saw it.

I was there that night. I never heard the Aud so quiet. It happened so fast. It was numbing.
There was a poster available for a very limited time (I think the Sabres Org. pulled it off the shelves) showing Clint down on the ice. It wasn't so bad since it was in black and white.
Color is just disturbing and thank god he was OK.

Wow...I always thought it was a broken stick that cut his throat and that's how we ended up with the rule that you couldn't play with a broken stick.
Learn something new every day. :) Pretty gruesome stuff. I saw an interview with Clint a few months ago on the Sunshine network...very interesting. Nice guy but I guess he had some real major "goalie issues" to work out...OCD and other weirdnesses. Glad he's still involved in hockey!

No.
The trainers rushed out onto the ice. Luckily, the side he was on was the same side as the dressing room area. If he has been on the other side of the ice, it's very likely Clint would have died from all the blood lost because the rainers would not have been able to get to him on time.
The players had to play the rest of the game with this hanging over them. I remember a few of them crying in interviews after the game, including the goalie who relieved Malarchuk, Jacques Cloutier.

What possible value does a snuff vidcap bring to the table?
I've had pictures with nipples removed from the site, and this stays?
Stupid.

Why do you have to be a party pooper? This was a big and infamous event in not only Sabres history but NHL history that has been extremely difficult to find. If it bothers you so damn much just ignore it and go on with your life.

No, if I posted it for all to see without clicking a separate link that had a "Warning" message attached to it, then it would be stupid.
That's the difference between your pics of the Pope being trapped under a rock and nipples. I gave people a choice if they wanted to view the video - with a clear disclaimer.
They had no choice to view yours.
So, cry me a river.

My postings are typically dark humor with a point.
A quick question... now that Hunter has passed on, does that mean Jimbo can start going back to Maxine's again?
