God damn, I hope not. One thing that I'm not seeing that I hoped they'd have is SportsCenter. That was one of the unique and best things the ESPN game had last year. ESPN would have improved that, and it would be awesome this year. If this game doesn't have it, then screw them bastards. :mad1:

If I remember right, the IGN article also mentioned that they are using 2006 as a year to try new things before they make their first Madden for the next gen systems.

Certainly would have been. MMMMmmm 2K6 would have been a delicious launch title for x360. It is embarrassing that EA took the ESPN liscense from 2K games and didn't even implement it into their games.

I'm not so sure about that. WGR had the guy incharge of the NCAA football game and he said they still have one more game to put out on the PS2, XBox, etc. Since NCAA Football and Madden work together so much I would be shocked if NCAA was on the old systems and Madden was put on the new ones.

The more I play it the more I just want to play ESPN 2K5. I think I am just going to update my 2K5 rosters every year and keep playing it till Madden finnally updates their dinosaur Madden 2001 engine and creates a decent football game.

My first impression with madden left me feeling like I settled for a game...I find myself longing for ESPN 2k5 graphics...these are the same madden models of years past.

As I play it more it has grown on me and I'll certainly get my $50 out of it...but..meh... :assimilat

Apparently I'm missing something. I am thoroughly enjoying Madden 06 so far. If anyone has taken care to notice, passing/catching/tackling all look more realistic (no more players going through other players, no balls "bouncing" off a receivers hands despite not actually getting within 2 feet of him).

Also, surprisingly, I am coming to like precision passing / passing cone.

I feel like I'm in the minority around here, everyone else is disappointed with this year's Madden, while I am very happy with it.

Does anyone else like it?

So my friend who also got Madden today told me about a glitch he ran into in Superstar mode. (He goes through fast because he sims practices and a lot of games.) He said that in the Super Bowl, his Lions played the Colts...and because the Colts were the home team for the game, the game was played in Indianapolis. Has anyone else heard about this glitch?

Just traded in my NCAA 2006 for Madden...Not too shabby, although there aren't a lot of changes it still beats lasts years. To be honest i'm so pumped for this coming season that i was just looking forward to seeing a new nfl game come out regardless of which one it was...Madden kicks arse and i'm sure it will improve in the future......

The only thing i liked about 2K games were that espn was invoved with it and had sportscenter highlights which was sweet..Graphics wise Maddens is way better unless you like your player walking like they just evolved from an ape.

Ive bought both series and i always ended up playing Madden because the Online play was so much better then the 2k series.But it is a shame madden does not have a rival because they will start slacking(hopefully they dont).

With 06 I think the graphics and sounds are close to the same but what do you expect for the last madden title on an outgoing system, With the ps3 and 360 we should expect to see much better graphics. As for gameplay if you adapt to the vision passing you will accept it an enjoy the game.. So far im enjoying it..
