Here are 5 stupid things I believed as a kid:

http://matthew94.blogspot.com/2005/07/stupid-kids.html

1. We have a coal burning powerplant in my town, when I was a kid I believed it was a cloud making factory.
2. I thought old black & white TV shows were colorless b/c color itself hadn't been invented yet.
3. I was sure there was a ghost in the toilet. His one chance to get out was when I flushed. Needless to say, I often ran out of the bathroom
4. For a while, I thought the road moved, not the car.
5. I believed everything far away was supposed to look super blurry

What stupid things did you believe?

Wow. I know I believed in foolish things, but I think I knew the difference between the car moving and the earth moving.

When I was younger I believed that there was a vampire that lived in my closet.

Now, since I'm so ****ing brilliant i devised a plan in which I would cover my entire body up to my chin with covers (to avoid showing my tempting neck flesh)

Then, when i thought i heard the vampire moving in my closet I would move my arms and legs in a piston fashion to give the illusion that i was a machine. If I'm a machine, I wouldn't have blood, thus... no bites.

:shame:

Thats smart I wish I would have thought of that....I cant count the amount of times the damn vampire in my closet tried to bite me.

Then there was the running start down the hallway and the jump to the bed, as not to be grabbed by any intruders under it.

I thought everyone in the world was an alien except me. That one day you'd all attack me, and it was me vs. the world.

I think that's why I'm paranoid.

I used to actually believe there was some dude in the sky keeping tabs on me and everyone else all the time and that if I didn't do exactly what he wanted me to do he would send me to a fiery place to burn forever because he loved me. Phew, glad I grew out of that one. Yeah, I was a pretty weird kid.

I was weird in much the same manner. My imaginary friend/stalker even had a name; Jebus.

man you guys were strange.... :D

i thought knife began with an n

can't really think of any good ones. i always worried that if you believed something was true or thought about evil things, then it would increase the likelihood of it happening.

e.g. at a campout if i thought a chainsaw massacre would occur, then it makes it more likely that it will.
think good thoughts :D

I thought the "do not pass" signs on highways meant to not go past that point. So everytime we passed one i thought we were trespassing.

I was afraid a hand would come up from the wall-side of the bed and grab when while I was sleeping, so I slept on a 6 inch space right against the open-side of the bed so if the hand came up I could get the hell outta there.

It never occured to me that the hand could come up the open side... man I woulda been screwed.

When I was a young kid just getting into puberty, and I started getting erections, I thought there was only a certan number of erections -- say, 1,000 -- that you could get and then you wouldn't get any more. So when a woody would spontaneously occur, I mentally fought to have it go down so it wouldn't count against my life total.

When I was young, I woke up with a spiking fever, and hit the panic switch. I believed that I had done something terrible, unrepentable, and unforgiveable.

Still happens when I get sick from time to time.

Very scary and out of bounds.

I used to think it was just beacuse of the fever doing something chemical in my brain. Now I know it's just a past life memory trying to emerge so that I can be healed.

Good thing I evolved.
