Okay, so there are plenty of Sabre fans who've left home... MCI Arena in DC rocks with "Let's Go Buffalo" when they're in town. :)

So what can we, as fans who are no longer there to go to the games, do to help the franchise? What can we spend our money on to maximize the benefit for Golisano, to make some kind of impact?

Merchandise? Is that it?

... Merchandise? Is that it?

I'm not sure if this will work, AE. Do NHL teams get to keep the revenues from the sale of their merchandised products, or is it like the NFL where most of the merchandise revenue goes into one pot that is split evenly among the teams?

I don't even know, that's why I'm asking. There must be some way (other than a friggin' United Way style telethon :)) to help out the Sabres....

Actually, the MCI Center rocked with "1, 2, 3, 4, 5....we want 6" during Buffalo's last 6-0 drubbing of the Caps. I know, because I was the guy in the Hecht jersey spilling pizza sauce and beer all over myself yelling it.

Plan a trip to Buffalo.... take in a game or 2. I am planning on being there sometime over the holidays.

I go to games at MCI whenever Buffalo is in town, loved the 1,2,3,4,5,...we want 6 game. Lindy loves to play the backup goalie at MCI. I usually try to make it up to Buffalo for the home opener and a game in April. Outside of buying tickets and donating them to a local charity in WNY, I can't think of a way for out of towners to help the franchise.
