linux is great if you know all the command-line stuff. if they ported the sims2 to linux, i would use it in a shot.
what file system are you using? i seem to recall that linux has problems with NTFS, but i could be remembering wrong.

Linux has no software support, only hardcore computer people have any interest in it as their primary OS.

if you pay for the distro - you can get software support.

I use Windows XP as my primary OS. I also have Linux loaded just so I can stay sharp on the CLI... which I use frequently on the job. :niterider
And like mentioned earlier... if more developers made software for Linux I use it more. :niterider

Linux is awesome if you don't have money for windows or the office suit. I've tried linux. Nothing wrong with it, just that everything supports windows. If you've never tried Linux, give knoppix.org a shot before you go wiping windows off your HD. Knoppix is a CD bootable linux distribution. So it's a great way to try Linux without making any irreversible changes to your system.
download http://csociety-ftp.ecn.purdue.edu/pub/knoppix/KNOPPIX_V3.8.1-2005-04-08-DE.iso
Burn the image onto a cd
Enter Bios on startup and set Boot priority to CD drive 1st.
Try linux.
