ok ive got this problem my cursor is moving around by itself, i know ive got a virus or viruses on my pc.
i dont have a virus scanner i use panda, also have tons of spyware removal software, also use A2 its a malware scanner . none of them seem to find anything wrong.
im on windows XP, checked hijackthis and see one thing in the log that looks suspicous. but i know if you dont know what youre doing you could make things worse and not delete the entire virus or whatever.
also there are things in my history that i absoloutely can not delete.
another thing, when i do ctrl+alt+delete and check process i notice something called "lsass.exe". and checked a search on google and it says that might be a virus. anyone know if i can just click "end process" and ill be all set or do i need to do more?
or does anyone know a free program that will tell me what things are supposed to be in the process area and tell me what might be bad things in there.
help please

I as well have lsass.exe, it is something to do with the login authentication and is not a virus.

I think the Good Rev. Ernest Ansley can do that. He will ask you to put your hands on the monitor & say, "come OUT, bad virus!!!" Or something like that.

its a sony vaio mouse. i seriously doubt its the functionality of my mouse.
i wont even have my hand on the mouse and the cursor will jump off screen and when i try to bring it back on screen sometimes it doesnt react or it will jump all over the place or even disapear at times

Have you seen any other symptoms like very slow processing or system freezes or strange network activity? If not it may be something other than a virus or spyware. This may sound stupid but have you cleaned your mouse's ball lately? The little fella may have some gunk in his hidden parts. Seriously, look at the bottom of the mouse, do a half turn on the collar there and drop the little ball out. Look at the 3 rollers inside the socket. Are they covered in cat hair and mucus and other things. If so clean the rollers with a toothpick, a Q tip and some rubbing alcohol, GENTLY, and try to use the mouse again.

like i said, i could understand if i was moving the mouse around and the cursor was going all crazy but its not.
the cursor will move by itself from side to side and disapear at times, as im typing this its going back and fourth at a steady pace, stopping occasionally, all the while my hand not anywhere near the mouse.
to answer your question about "the dirty mouse theory" though. i clean the mouse often and have recently since it started, its not that.

spywareinfo.com has forums to help too. Run Hijackthis and copy off the info into Notepad. You'll need the log for whichever forum you're going to use for advice.
Have you tried running your antivirus and antispyware programs from Safemode? Sometimes that catches programs that aren't otherwise detectable. Reboot, and when the computer says its loading Windows, hit F8. You should get a menu that will let you reboot in Safemode (do it with Networking so you can connect to the internet if need be).
I'd also try another antivirus program or 2. You can download AVG (Grisoft) and Avast for free.) But if I were you, I'd consider investing in something like Macafee or Norton.

Are you running windows? If so, hit ctrl / alt / delete while it's happening and check the processes tab. Do the numbers under the CPU column add up? Anything in there you don't recognize that's pulling resources?

ok, in the process tab, under CPU everything reads 00 except for "system idle process" which read 99 when i opened it.
thats what it read while the cursor was stable and not doing the mysterious moving by itself.
waiting to see what it reads while it does that

the only ones that seemed to change while the cursor was moving was spysweeper.exe and SSSvr.exe

What you have is a worm, download microsoft anti spyware, adaware, spybot. those are all legit. be careful about downloading flaky spyware removal utilities!! there are alot of them with spyware and adware built into them. i agree that i dont feel its the mouse itself. what kind of connection do you have i.e. dial up, ort broadband? use the msconfig to turn off any startup programs that look flaky.
