View Full Version : When will Flutie retire?

December 11th, 2001, 11:32:08 PM
Don't talk too soon about retirement for DF. he says that he can play anywhere for four or five years and has plenty left in his tank. He is old and aging but puts up good numbers and gives 100% while he's in there. Don't expect for Flutie to retire soon. Flutie is exciting and gives 100% everytime he's out there. The Bills should have kept him. What a shame. They'll get over it though. I hope so anyway.

yeah his recent play really makes me wish we had kept him.

What is that supposed to mean? They still should have kept Flutie. Everyone knows it except you blind Johnsonites.

If you read always' profile, next to the question of how long he has been a Bills fan he answered, "Ever since Doug Flutie came here maybe before."

So does that mean now that Flutie is a Charger he is a Charger fan? Just another disgruntled Flutie flake, I guess.

Yeah, I see St. Louis wanting him to replace Warner so they can trade Warner and meet some other needs. Or maybe Philly will want him to trade McNabb away. Heck, if he can play 'til he's 44, that's great! He'll be playing like he's 34 then.

It's too bad he can't play TODAY!!!

Ahhh! Maybe I'm bein' too hard on the guy! He actually has a few more games to move up into the top 20!

Flutie is a winner and he has won a lot of football games, a lot more than Rob will or ever won. He won more games at one stretch than any other QB at the time. He has one of the highest active winning perecentages of QBS.

hey always don't be a goon, i agree that flutie is a good player and is better than some QB's/. but he is not the QB fo our team, do you honestly believe we would be 500. if he was in there, we need a brand new QB.

I agree with you. Flutie is a winner, he just wins. Points or yards per game are meaning less to measure an ofense with and PER is a figment of my imagination. There is no such thing as a Defense or special teams either, indeed there is only the QB. I wonder why all of the non-enlightened call football a team game? Just a couple of QBs out there dueling.

Flutie is so magical, and his fans are sharp and know alot about football.

Yeah, what a season he's having too. They're going to bench him for a rookie. winner, winer, weiner? Yes...he is the 3 W's

I guess my reaction will be contigent on how many people feel the need to compare our future QBs to the then would-be defunct Flutie, who was never anything more than average at best.

So, I guess we'll have to wait to hear how many people still bring up Flutie when our rookie QB doesn't pan out, or Van Pelt ain't what everyone thought he was w/ his 300 yard games and key INTs to lose many of them. So I guess you can say the jury's out.

If "they" don't bring him, there'll be no reason for anyone else to. I'm content w/ my perfectly accurate fulfilled prediction as to how Flutie would play this year. Down to a T actually!

I heard Flutie say last year that he thought he could play for maybe two more. He's about done. Of course he hopes he can play forever.

Rob has set it up so that everyone will always compare him to Flutie. Always. Crying about that damn SI article; Complaining that everyone likes Flutie because he's an underdog and he has a autistic kid; making it clear to sports shows that he doesn't like flutie; blah blah blah.
