Flutie puts up impressive numbers against top ranked team, and although the Chargers lost, he proved to all that he is the man.

THe chargers last year 1-15, and Flutie has given them hope.

Apparently Brees and Flutie have a good relationship and the future looks bright there.

We have just witnessed a class act leading the way.

He won't because Flutie had a great game against a top-ranked defense.

307 yards passing, 2 td's 45 yards rushing. Not a bad day, yes he threw two interceptions, but remember they were facing the Eagles defense in Philly

Flutie had a garbage game against a great D. His one long touch for 61 yards HIT THE CB IN THE BACK!!! The WR Graham made a play of the year catch and reached around the DB and took the ball to the house. Even with that miracle throw Flute put up a crap 65 PER game. Couple that with a nice fumble and you get a garbage game. Fluke was not under much pressure and he still put up bad balls. He lead his team to alot of 3 and outs by throwing just crap, he just wins so well. He was 20 for 44, wich gives YPA of 6.9 and that includes the one duck that got rescued for 61. Without that he gets a flat 50 PER. He played like crap and the rest of his team could not save his sorry ass. Flutie fans = hockey fans/baseball fans/cricket fans, or anything but football.

Hey 666,

I thought you were one of those who didn't want to hear about Flutie anymore!?

That WAS a spectacular fumble however!

6 LOSSES in a row!!! 8 of 10!!! He CAN'T be a decent team in the NFL!!! LOSER!

December 10th, 2001, 2:32:36 PM
Hey,

Check me if I'm wrong, but weren't "WINS" THE STANDARD last year and years prior for Flutie???

Just checkin', 'cause I sure thought they were!

December 10th, 2001, 2:40:23 PM
you see wyswings, that STANDARD does not apply anymore, because his team is not winning the games for him anymore.

where is that san diego guy who came on when they were 5-2 ? i told you then they wouldn't make the play-offs.

Beating the odds, that's RJ being able to come back and have at leats one more start in the NFL.

Maybe he'll give the Canadian Footbal League a try.

Well it was Philly. Can't expect him to win against a good D. Plus his stats are not too bad. If we evaluate people on stats alone . . .

After a ton of losses, DF's fans are all of a sudden making him all about his stats, cuz he can't win to save his life...or his job. Yea, he had decent numbers, but his last drives in the 4th quarter, when his team was WELL within distance and with tons of time left...he threw an INT, he fumbled (led to a FG by Philly), they went 3 and out and punted, missed a FG and then the clock ran out ont he next drive. He never even came close to giving them a win and lately, that's beent he case...every week. He hasn't even come close to giving them a CHANCE to win. Oh yea, and class? Oh boy. Read my other thread about what's going on this week in SD. DF went behind his o-coordinator's back and dissed him publicly to the media. The same guy that he raved about many times earlier this season. he called him a "offensive genius" and said he devised the perfect schemes for him and the other offensive personnel. He said he's a guy that knows offenses and makes the best out of his personnel. But now that he's playing badly and things aren't working out, it's backstabbing time again. Hmmm, that's familiar. But i still bet he didn't make any comments to the Boston press or SI.

Well, even if VP wins 2, I'm not so sure that's gonna cement him as our starter next year. Something has to be said for improvement during the season as well. I mean we can't expect the team and coaches to not improve given our situation. Since EVERYTHING was changed, it only seems right that it would take a while for things to settle down. I'm assuming that at season's end, we will be playing much better than at the beginning for the simple reason that we've played together for a season, on a sliding scale as the season grows older.

We're gonna be hanging onto RJ simply b/c there is some chance that he can be more than he has been. It may be nominal, but it's there. VP is what he is, and unless he does something spectacular in the next few weeks win-wise, no one is gonna want him out of FA I'm guessing. He'll probably sign for min again.

We should have gone after a QB this past draft. I guess we just had too many glaring needs...

December 11th, 2001, 1:58:44 AM
We should have beat Miami!

By the same token however, if our OL had played as well vs. N.O., Indy, S.D., and Indy again, we would have won all of those games. The difference between our OL in those games and the Miami game was huge. It played OK in the S.D. game even though we lost and well in the Jax game even though we only scored 13. But Jax actually has a good D.

rob thre 3 ints in the n.o. game you can't blame that on the o-line. and you still haven't responded to the five bad games i have pointed out, when you said he only had four. i'm sure there are more than five. our o-line is bad but it is very fixable. just a guard an left tackle are needed. don't you agree? 2 free agents to protect our new QB:D

Ummm, Jeff, that was sarcasm. The point is that you tend to tout RJs stats since his W-L record is so bad. I've seen that often enough to know that stats don't tell the whole story. Case in point: DFs stats against Philly.

Love your passion, man. You really, really, really hate DF don't you?

Yeah. I don't hate anyone. I just wish Buffalo would find another QB. RJ isn't going to work out. If they resign him, then they will find that out.

Trumper, Flutie had bad stats against Philly. He put up a 65 PER game. And we all know about the rescued gimp duck that went to the house. His play and his stats were bad. He was not under tremendous pressure and he had plenty of chances, he just blew it. He has been pretty awful this year, his D and ST have bailed him out of alot of crap games, but that is not enough all of the time. Any time he has played even approaching well he has had short fields and a crappy opponent (the Buffalo game anyone?). Flutie may be good at what RJ is not good at, throwing away the ball and avoiding sacks, but he is a bad QB because he does not throw the ball well. If Flute was on the Rams he would float up ducks and still play poorly, he just does not have much talent.

Fab and WYS-Do you understand 1-15 now 5-8. You can't win you have no argument you guys are just in denial.

It's kind of funny how you harp on Flutie when he's not even on the Bills. Just cause RJ sucks (proven already) doesn't mean you have to bash Flutie.

I feel sorry for you guys obsesssed with Flutie. Someone needs to a new hobby.

Good luck with the quest!:D

sorry wys, i guess you just can't handle that i don't think rob is good enough to be the QB of the bills, you can fire out all your stats all you want. i watch every game and my eyes don't lie. he's not a starter in this league, well maybe on the rams.
