View Full Version : It's getting boring around here...

Again, not in the vein of 'Doug bashing', but I think this question is worthy of merit:

I should have made another poll about who the first people in here would be to answer the poll...
I'll say McBill and duffster... Possibly Doug.

Did you see the Poll ESPN ran the other day? It had what was the most exciting Hesimen Trohey winning moment. Yep, you got it. Doug Flutie's Hailmary pass won it with 70.7% of the voting with over 117,000 people voting.:D

That WAS a pretty exciting sports moment though!
I can't think of too many 'heisman trophy' winning moments though. Did they give a choice?

I don't know what papers you read or shows you watch, but all I hear/read is "Flutie sucks, Brees should start".
I think DF has gotten more negative press in the news lately than most other players.

I usually peruse the mainstream stuff first. There I'm not really hearing anything right now. It's almost like they're waiting for him to snap out of "it" even though he's really not doing anything different than he's ever done.
In S.D., I hear similar to what happened here, a few people acknowledge that he's not contributing anything, especially in light of their #1 ranked STs unit, a solid D, and a top 10 NFL RB on pace for 1,300 and 14 TDs or so. But the rest of the fans, at least on their boards, are saying Flutie's not to blame.
The real issues are gonna come if and when Brees starts, and if he plays well and does more for the O. At that point I suspect that Flutie's NFL career will be over and he'll be relegated to a backup role down there w/ Brees nailing down that starting spot for next year.
That'll be interesting at that point if and when that happens.

I had a hard time choosing between your first two options; the only thing I can be sure of, to quote a national source, is that he is "the most overrated QB in the history of the NFL, bar none!"

He hasn't gotten any negative press he didn't deserve 100%, especially after taking all the credit for all the early "wins"

Ok, he has been GIVEN all the credit for wins. I should not have said TAKEN, because I have no quote he made (to our faces) for having taken the credit. Maybe WYS wings does?
Anyway, the point is, what comes around goes around. His fans (like you?) have been pointing toward all the Bills previous wins (key word BILLS) and saying things like "all he does is win"
Now all he does is lose. Deal with it.
