It is 100% without a doubt real. If by real you mean 2 people taking a fair share of physical abuse in the ring. It is not "real" in the way that the victor is already known. However the better wrestlers matches are given a winner and told to go. The better guys can improv off each other. I know 1 guy that was a indy wrestler who made it to a division 1 step from pro(WWE,WCW,ECW) at the time. He now wrestles in the CWF. He has 2 fake knees and back problems from wrestling. You tell him it's fake.....well lets just say dont tell him it's fake.

There are different kinds of "real" - e.g., all the following are real but not in the same way:
-The sentence, "Unicorns taste like chicken."
-The spirit of Adolf Hitler
-Dreaming that you're dreaming
-Forgetting your birthday.
-Yellow
-Verifiability
-Diarrhea

Do I think the action is real? No-since the winners are determined in advance-but thanks to the training these guys(and ladies)undergo, they can make it look real(and some can really work stiff at times).
Do I think the injuries are real? Hell yes.

Good post. Tell Michaels, Foley, Angle, and Austin its not athleticism, when they had SERIOUS injuries and still finished their matches. In real sports, injured players go to the bench. But in wrestling ENTERTAINMENT they continue on for us, the fans. Very dedicated!

Tell Cowboy Bob Orton its not real, the guy had a broken arm that took 20 years to heal! But maybe that was a work...

That's funny. Especially at Wrestlemania. He comes out during his kids match with his cast on yet during the Inductees announcement later in the show it was gone. lol Must have been a quick healing fracture.

Its obviously staged and made to not be real, but there is no doubt that the risks that these athletes take in the ring are real. A wrong step or small mistake can cause serious injury in a wrestling ring, which is something that is too often overlooked or not understood by detractors of the business.

No! Its entertainment,politics,a soap opera.
About the only real thing are the injuries.
