RED
LIGHT BLUE
HMMMMM..... sounds like you'd LOSE there! :slice:
And light blue is a BABY color, so that fits the bill too!!!
DEAN DOME = WHINE AND CHEESE CROWD. ALWAYS will be.
NICE move excluding the students from the choice seats for your precious 'sttpetial' guests and alumni.. luckily your :gay: school changed that policy; Heck, DOOK at least has class enough to let their students have a blast... yours clap mildly like it was June on the VERANDAHHH! :flush:

First off carolina Blue is the best color there is and the heels have much better uni's than the broing red of state.
Secondly, the students weren't allowed to sit near the court b/c the Building was privately funded unlike the RBC and fans at the Dean Dome actually have class unlike their rivals from Raleigh and Durham.

The only class UNC has is the one with a professor or a graduate assistant... PLEASE do not try and compare UNC to DOOK or NCSU, because everyone in the whole state knows that whine and cheese is synonymous with UNC. :poke:
In a couple more days, we'll see whether or not we'll get the glorious opportunity to play you 'Holes a THIRD time as GA TECH got to do... Right now, our team has more tourney experience, and it will serve us well... let the games begin!

At the Dean Dome you don't here the crass chants you hear at cameron and they don't throw stuff at people like they did at reynolds and do at the RBC.

your team has more tourney experience but does going out in rd1 or 2 every year count? This is your first sweet 16 since the 80s! Tech got an uninspired team trying to get McCants back into it after a few weeks off(where during that time we beat you at your place again). You will not get that effort w/ a chance to go to the FF on the line, we have dominated you the past 2 years and that will continue if you make it by Wisconsin.

THAT IS BECAUSE your whine and cheese crowd are too busy socializing and being the 'in-crowd' at the game rather than being FANS... FANATIC=FANS; that is where it comes from!
NOBODY does it better than DOOK and us as far as crowds.
YOU KNOW Jimmy V got caught up in the Shackleford deal and was forced to go UNFAIRLY, and so our program was UNFAIRLY hurt dramatically by the events!!! We were THE team in the ACC until he was forced out... that's life, and it take a long time to recover from that.
We don't HAVE a fancy recycled coach like Roy, or a HOF coach like Dean Smith, but we have ONE THING that you guys will NEVER, EVER have- HEART.

I lived in Charlotte for many years because my parents chose to retire there. I want to N.C. State from 1991-1993 before I moved from the state. I have been a part of the fan base ever since I first got my key to my dorm at Syme Hall in 1991 as an engineering major.
I was there when Tom Gugliotta reigned THREES down on UNC and *WE* won 99-88. I was THERE when Jimmy V gave the 'never give up' speech... we got crushed by Duke and Bobby Hurley's antics. I was there when Charlie Ward was in his glory. I was THERE IN NYC when we played Iowa in the Kickoff Classic. I WAS THERE IN ATLANTA when Jeff Blake came back and beat us in the Peach Bowl. I was THERE when a cocky Terry Kirby, up at UVA, showed his attitude, and we POUNDED them into submission. I was THERE when a young Allan Houston played with his father against us (Tennessee vs. NCSU). From Charlie Davenport to Philip Rivers, from Kevin Thompson to Engin Atsur, I have ALWAYS BEEN THERE.
I have BEEN to DOOK SEVERAL times... I have BEEN to UNC several times. I have been to WAKE, CLEMSON, UVA, and ECU SEVERAL times.
I'm no ordinary fair-weather, from New York but an ACC fan... I LIVED the moments. I can CLAIM WE. I supported. I bought tickets, I bought merchandise. I went to school there for 3 years. Can you claim the same for UNC?
Thank you. I REST my case. NEXT! :)

All I know is that you guys won the same number of National Championships that we did in the 80's: 1.
Before Valvano started coaching, we had been in a tailspin. When he took over, our program rose to national prominence, after TWO years we won it all?? Dean Smith had been there for YEARS, so I'd say that we WERE! All those lofty records and you guys do WHAT? ONE NCAA Tournament win? Look at DOOK; they got the job DONE eventually.. and I want to bring in the stats:
COACH TM YRS W/L PCT ACC
Dean Smith UNC 62-97 35 879-254 .776 13
Jim Valvano NCSU 81-90 9 209-114 .647 2
He brought us 1 championship, 2 ACC titles in 9 years. He was brought down unfairly, and so it is about time things were back to normal.

Championships enter the equation and are weighed more heavily than anything else but ther are other factors to look at such as head to head, ACC titles and NCAA tourney success.

Your way better basketball program is in the SAME PLACE N.C. State is right NOW; losers in the semi-finals of the ACC tournament, playing in the Sweet 16 game...
Records mean NOTHING in this game; haven't you learned that yet??
You seem to forget that Roy Williams was not the kind of coach that would win it all consistently... in fact, it has been 17 YEARS since he's won a championship, and look at all those lofty records he accumulated. Just the type of performance you'd expect from a Dean Smith wannabe.

March? March to St. Louis? I would define march as being dominating. Illinois and Louisville are "marching".
You must mean stumbling, bumbling, barely scraping their way through.
They were outplayed for at least 75% of this game and you know it. They didn't look at all like a national championship team tonight.

We blew out our 1st 2 opponents and had 1 close game, that's stumbling, bumbling and barely scraping through? Illinois has yet to blow a team out, it doesn't matter waht the scores are as long as you win and the Heels continue on the road to St. Louis.

They won their first 2 games by a combined 52 points. Also, for a team to get outplayed for 75% of a game and STILL win, thats championship caliber when you can play poorly and still win.

b/c the Building was privately funded unlike the RBC
This is a fallacy. I knew the project manager on the RBC build. True the initial build was financed with "donations" but the dean dome burns over a mill in the tax payers wallet each year and it is growing (they are a state school just like NCSU believe it or not!). It is a basketball building only, and gets only a few outside events a year (very little now with the RBC Center being the venue of choice). The RBC center was financed with money from the wolfpack club, Carolina hurricanes and a hotel tax (not sure about you but I don’t stay in a hotel in my home town, so I didn’t pay for it, but I am married, lol!) I believe this year will be the first year the RBC comes out of the red and turns a profit (not sure with hockey lockout), Dean Dome will continue to cost tax payers for years to come and it is a garbage building, while the RBC center pays for it self and turns a profit. NC State “the state friendly” school!

I disagree with you there; the Dean Dome is profitable, and they are utilizing it as best as they can. The taxpayer money does not fund it NEARLY as much as you say; check your figures again.
The RBC Center sucks for basketball and hockey; I don't like it one bit. They need to build it thinking of it as a UNIVERSITY building rather than a huge gigantic arena. We got shafted on the funding for RBC... what a shame.

OK I checked my figures; I was $74,454 off for a grand total of $1,074,454 cost to North Carolina taxpayers. I am all for following the law and pay my taxes, begrudged, but when a state of the art arena cost the state and university $0 in operating cost I don't think you can argue with that! “University style building” or not, our elected officials finally did some work and instead of costing us money, they saved us money, Geeeeeez how can you not be happy with that!!!! :nana:
And how did NCSU get shafted on the funding, we paid for a smaller, basketball only arena and got a word class facility?
BTW some proff to back it up:
