Jim Manly (Old Greenwich, CT): Great job on the Kelly Holcomb signing. My question is about tight end. We have two guys with serious injuries and an offense that badly needs another option. Is there anyone in the draft (2nd round) or free agency we should look out for?

TD: Both Mark Campbell and Tim Euhus are projected to be at full speed by training camp. There have been significant improvements in knee surgeries and rehab over the last 10 years. Our tight end position produced 37 receptions last year and we are looking to improve that this season. We are re-signing Ryan Neufeld today. Ryan was an outstanding player in our system last year and did a good job as a tight end and an H-back and also made a significant contribution on special teams. We will also look in the draft at the position to see if we can improve in our production from our tight ends.

I think this says they're looking at Matt Jones which is great news. Who's the odd man out though?

That is not exactly a promise to draft a TE in round 2. What I read is that the improvement in Euhus and Campbell will make drafting a TE unnecessary, so Buffalo would only draft one if the situation and opportunity presents itself to make the Bills better. He would probably say the same about every other position on the team.

Frankly, I'm happy to hear that Campbell and Euhus are doing well. It removes some pressure from the Bills.

Bryan Ault (Alexandria, VA): As fans, we do not have a lot of confidence in Rian Lindell's distance and we think he puts additional pressure on the offense to get closer late in close games. How do you intend to address the kicking situation in the off-season? Thanks for your time.

TD: Our philosophy as an organization is to always try to improve the team in all areas. Sometimes, however, you should watch what you wish for. Rian Lindell improved as much as any player on our team last year compared to the 2003 season. He ended the year near the top of most statistical categories in the NFL. For example, in 2003 he was 17-of-24 kicking field goals for a total of 75 points. In 2004, he was 24-of-28 on his field goals for 117 points. He also lost two long field goals last year when we called timeout prior to the kicks which he made. Rian is improving and has done a very good job under the direction of Bobby April. We expect him to take another step this season as our kicker.
