View Full Version : Was OJ Guilty?

Okay, now that we've had a few years to rest and reflect, do you feel OJ was guilty? Was he set up by the LAPD? Did they acquit because it didn't fit? Was the whole trial a farce? Even if you weren't old enough to see him play, everybody knows OJ from his career as a broadcaster and a spokesperson.
Your true feelings, honest injun. As fans, I'm curious to know where you stand six years later.
As for myself, I met the man twice in my lifetime. Once in 1985 when he flew into Buffalo with Ralph Wilson. They both signed autographs for our whole car rental staff. The second time was on January 10, 1991. The Bills were having their official pep rally and squish the fish party at the Ramada (The old Charter House, for all you old timers) in Williamsville, before the Divisional game vs the fish. He had the NBC Cameras there filming it, while wearing his 1/2 Bills, 1/2 49ers jacket. He went around interviewing people at the bar. He asked me what a Super Bowl victory would mean to the city of Buffalo. I told him "About what your rushing meant to the '73 team. It means everything!"
Well, I got my melon on NFL Live, but not my interview.
My point is, the guy didn't seem like a cold blooded killer to me, but damn if the evidence didn't make him look pretty bad.
Your thoughts...please.

So THIS is what the last 5 weeks of our season has come down to. LOL

I didn't vote because the appropriate answer was not offered. The correct answer is "No", period. He was acquitted of the crime.
The question to ask is "did OJ do it?" That's monumentally different from asking whether or not he was guilty.
December 4th, 2001, 10:15:17 AM
Technically that's not correct.
He could be guilty in truth but not guilty legally.
So "guilty" would depend upon in what context!
:D
The play stands as called!

I'm strictly speaking from a legal standpoint. He was found innocent and will always be innocent. But if you're asking me if he committed the crime; who am I to say?
December 4th, 2001, 10:19:01 AM
Ok...let's rephrase my original question..
Should OJ have been found guilty of the crime of murder?

OJ was about as Guilty as a person can be, the only thing the LAPD didnt have on him was actually catching him in the act of stabbing Nicole. And this guy plays golf everyday in the free world, makes me sick.

Who cares? Talk about dredging up a thing from the past. Cripes, that case was babbled about nauseum 5 years ago, and you want to talk about it again?

They should yank him off the wall of fame.
They need to make room for Thurman and Andre anyway.

What OJ did on the field way back when has nothing to do with his recent problems. Therefore, any honors that were bestowed upon him for his achievements in the NFL should not be taken away. With that being said, however, the guy is a complete and utter moron; a total disgrace to his family, friends, and fans; and a useless piece of sh*t. This guy is one of the luckiest ***** in the world, and he just can't seem to get the picture. IMO, the best thing for him (and society as a whole) would be if one of his shady "business associates" put a bullet in his twisted little excuse for a brain. That snapcase is probably one breath away from screwing-up another person's life. I have had it with OJ, the guy is a joke.

bgreen - Ray Lewis is another lump of crap. This guy had the nerve to get an attitude about the media asking him LEGITIMATE questions about his involvement/lack of involvement (YEAH, RIGHT!!!) in those murders. That MOFO even portrayed himself as the victim in that situation. Hello, AS*HOLE!!!!???? Two people were brutally murdered, and you were present...you're going to try to tell me that you're the victim? If you or I were in Ray's shoes, we'd be sitting in prison right now. Whenever I see a child walking around with a Ravens "LEWIS" jersey, I feel like smacking the sh*t out of said child's parents.

Yet they vote him MVP, and put him on Sports Illustrated like he's John Elway. The press loves him...and the tv networks love him...as do the merchandisers. I just don't get it.
I had no idea that this thread would cause such a stir. I was only looking for a "straw poll" a few years later to see if time had healed any wounds. I guess not.

But he didn't get on a cereal box after he was named SB MVP when other MVPs had.

I guess it is just another indication of how morally bankrupt our society has become, and further proof that America has about a 5 nano-second attention-span/memory. It is absolutely disgusting.

And for those that don't know what waht 5 nanoseconds is, that's
0.000000005 seconds.

Yeah, he's innocent, that's why he was headed towards the border with $$, a passport and a gun. The true actions of an innocent man I tell ya!

Are you all forgetting that he was found to be responsible for the deaths by a court in a civil case? So technically, he is guilty.

How did this thread get pushed to the top, showing a response today, when the date on the last post still shows 12/6 ??
June 20th, 2002, 8:01:48 PM
Someone probably replied to it, then deleted their response.

Actually, I'm guessing that someone made their vote. That's what happens with the polls here. Someone can make a vote without a message and it looks, from the outside, that the last person who posted made their post when that last vote was entered.

The jury decided he was not guilty, so he is not guilty. Not to worry, when he dies, he will meet his Maker, who already knows for sure 100% whether or not he's truly guilty.
