As I wrote a few days ago, last week I was forunate enough to hang out with Bud Carson and Lionel Taylor. Taylor (a former great AFL WR) is down here in Bradenton working with IMG clients preparing for the draft. IMG has a main facility in Bradenton where many athletes go to work with personal coaches, trainers, etc.. Several of the upcoming draft prospects were here for a few weeks preparing for the combine.

Anyway, even though Heath wasn't able to work out at the combine due to an injury, Taylor said he worked a lot of drills with him and absolutely raved about this kid's hands. He said he caught everything thrown to him - from all different angles and at all different routes. According to him, whoever gets this guy is going to have a terrific pass-catching tight end and be very, very pleased.

With the Bills siuation at tight end, it would be nice to land Miller after hearing this. Obviously, the problem is that Miller will most likely be the first TE taken and we don't have a first round pick.

But, if there were any way the Bills could land this guy, it sounds like he would be a terrific new weapon in our offense.

By the way, here's a good article about the IMG Academy and some of the prospects:

BRADENTON -- This is the place you go to trade in a beat-up Suzuki Grand Vitara for promised NFL millions.

It's located down a plain, unspectacular road lined with simple bungalows and old palm trees. Traffic moves at a subdued pace, and it seems as if 75 percent of the people are over the age of 80.

And for the past six years, it has been the place to train if you are a projected first-round NFL draft pick.

"No other place is like this," said top quarterback prospect Alex Smith, who packed up his Suzuki and left Utah for the facility last month, just two days after announcing his plans to enter the 2005 draft. "I think that is part of the reason I wanted to come down here. It's so isolated. . . . It was a situation where I could just work."

The annual NFL Draft Combine, which begins today in Indianapolis, is the most important pre-draft stop for potential draft picks. But since its inception in 1999, IMG Academy's International Performance Institute has become a haven for select NFL draft hopefuls to train in what has become a sort of pre-job interview job interview.

The facility has seen the likes of Eli Manning (New York Giants), Michael Clayton (Tampa Bay), Chad Pennington (New York Jets) and Drew Henson (Dallas), among others, learn from the likes of Olympic gold medalist Michael Johnson, who helps players improve their 40-yard dash times.

Great info coach thanx, not that I dont like the idea of drafting this kid, I think our TE situation is not in urgent need as our o-line or kicking game. Campbell played well last year and so did Neufeld

Ok, no offense to anybody, but do you guys really read what is said on these boards....or pay attention to our team.

Campbell and Euhus, our top 2 TEs ended their season with ACL tears, and they will be fully recovered by training camp. This means 1) they will miss mini camps and any team organized workouts, 2) when they come back, they will not be conditioned 3) ACL tear is something that takes at least a full year to fully heal, and 2 years to get back to pre-injury form, 4) they might even miss some training camp time.

TE is a need right now. We have 1 viable healthy TE in Nuefeld, and he's not exactly the guy you want starting on opening day. We have Peters, who MIGHT turn into a great TE, but no one knows, cuz he hasn't played TE in the NFL yet.

TE is a big deal, and using Campbell or Euhus at this point to say that because of them we don't need to get a TE is just being misinformed.

true, we need a TE. but its not as much of a priority as the o - line and the fact that we do have peters and nuefield tells me that the bills will probably try to go w/ these guys and maybe drafting a TE late

maybe for a second rounder this year and a first next, but i don't see us turning over multiple picks and losing future ones again so soon
