hello

This from ESPN insider.
"Larry Brackins, WR, Pearl River JC (Miss.) (6-foot-5, 217 pounds) -- Brackins was heavily recruited out of Dothan High School in Alabama but ended up at Feather River Junior College in 2002, where he played only basketball. The following year he moved to Pearl River Junior College and played football as well as basketball, catching 45 passes for a 17.1-yard average and nine touchdowns. He was heavily pursued before the 2004 season by LSU, USC and Florida State but stayed in the juco ranks. In 2004, he played only football and helped lead the team to the juco national championship with his 55 catches for a 19.8-yard average and 10 touchdowns while also returning 19 punts for a 17.6-yard average and three TDs. He also saw action on defense as a nickel back.
Brackins has a 40-plus-inch vertical leap but runs the 40 in about 4.5 seconds and does not play quite as fast as he times out. His route-running was pretty good at the juco level and he is an excellent blocker, but Brackins is still raw in terms of experience against big-time cornerbacks. The nuances of the position are going to have to be learned because things came so easily for him at the lower level of competition. Brackins has a major transition to make and will need time to develop, but he would make sense for an organization willing to be patient and develop the great natural skills he has. Had he come out of a major Division I-A program we might be looking at a first-round pick, but going into the Combine, Brackins figures to come off the board somewhere in the fourth or fifth round. His performance in Indianapolis will be critical to proving his athletic prowess, and a good showing there could boost his stock."
This guy sounds like a beast. I think he would be a good no. 3 reciever especailly in short yardage. Also, he can take the place of Moulds as he isn't getting any younger.

WR Vincent Jackson. 6-5 240. 4.5 40 yard dash.
I love this guy. He looked amazing at the combine.
He could be a TE.
Very Fast, Great Athlete. Great Basketball player.
Reminded me of Antonio Gates or TO. He is Built and can run FAST.

You should see him. If you get a chance to watch the combine, you need to look at this guy.
He is huge and had very good speed.

He can bulk up 20 pounds easily. You're right, he probably can. But I stress probably. Plus if he's already running a 4.5, that might not be such a great thing. I'd like to see what kind of skills he might have as a CB or a safety.

I dont' understnad why you are passing on him as a WR? Are you saying that is too slow?

I want Chad Owens out of Hawaii...this guy set a whole bunch of records connecting with Timmy Chang. He as fast as a bolt of lightning too, with really soft hands. I watched one of his games on ESPN and my jaw dropped quite a few times. Id love to take him as a sleeper in the third round.

I'm saying that if he were playing the slot/3rd WR postition, some safety is going to come up on him and shatter his ribs. 217 is not a great weight for a guy who's 6'5". 4.5 isn't the greatest speed either, especially when the report goes on to say, "does not play quite as fast as he times out." He sounds very, very raw with a frame that better suits a shooting guard than an NFL receiver.
But who knows? Maybe he'd be a good late-round project. That is, after all, the kind of guy I draft in the 6th round in Madden and ends the year with 16 catches for 82 yards and 12 TD's. He could be a very good red-zone specialist, at WR or perhaps at CB. Match him up against these huge 6'3" WR's for the Randy Moss-type jump balls.

I've been looking at this guy for some time now too. It seems like every year a WR comes out and flies under the radar. By this, I mean they come out of a small program or junior college and are hyped about, such as Tyrone Calico of the Titans or Clarence Moore of the Ravens.

That was what I was thinking. I doubt he could play slot this year but he might be worth a 5th for this guy. Even if he is raw he has decent size.

Calico played for MTSU and was a solid college WR.
Brackins is a JUCO player. He had scholarship offers all over, but you have to worry about a guy that couldn't apply himself enough to graduate from JUCO. I've seen film on him and he looks like a slower Randy Moss. He just ran out 20 yards, they'd throw it up, and he go up against a 5'9 corner, bring down the ball and run past the guy. I don't know about bringing a guy that immature into the NFL.
For anyone who doesn't follow college recruiting (I follow Alabama and we recruited Brackins) this guy ws the #1 player in JUCO and a 5-star prospect (the highest rating). Big risk for an NFL team though

Brackins is intriguing. Pearl River Community College sounds like a school a sleeper is destined to emerge from. I think we all feel that the team could use a big target with athleticism to either line up as a slot receiver or at tight end. At the very least, a player with these attributes will have to be accounted for in the red zone.

Actually I think Calico went to UTEP. I saw him play years ago.
Brackins might be worth a 7th rounder.
How many JUCO (not JUCO --> NCAA) ever make it on NFL rosters at all?
I recall the Bills drafting a guy in a similar situation a few years ago in the 7th round - where is he now?

Plenty of Jucos make it in the NFL. They go to a college for 2 years and then come to the NFL. McKinney was a JuCo player. I'd definetly take this guy in the 4th or 5th. He would be a first rounder if he went to a 4 year college.

Heres alittle thing I found on him.
Jackson could end up being the biggest surprise of this upcoming draft, in terms of how far he’ll climb on draft boards. He’s 6'6", and pushing 240lbs, and he can run. Watching Jackson play is very entertaining, if you are entertained by watching a man completely overpower everyone who tries to defend him. There are really no weaknesses to Jackson’s game, except obviously the level of competition. He runs great routes, is very strong, will fight for the ball, and has very soft hands. Playing for Northern Colorado will put questions in NFL guys’ heads, as to whether or not Jackson can dominate cornerbacks at the next level, like he did in DI-AA. They will get their chance to find out when Jackson plays in the Senior Bowl. Jackson has supreme confidence in his abilities and works very hard to improve himself. One other intriguing possibility is the fact that Jackson has no problem packing on beef and does so with very little drop-off in production, which leads me to believe that the potential of him become a very good NFL TE is a definite possibility.

I guarantee this kid ends up being good in the NFL wherever he goes. The kid was probably too dumb to get into a four year school but will be great in the NFL.

I'd take a chance on this guy in round 6-7 but not any earlier.

Unless it is a kicker, there isn't much more value in the 5th round.

There is no way Larry Brackins amounts to anything in the NFL. He's garbage.
Matt Jones is the guy. He's catches the ball in traffic incredibly well. He is a nice option for gadget plays(he can throw, run, and catch). I bet he moves into rd 2 by april, and I hope the Bills take him. He's an absolute stud.

I think buffalo should look at this horse WR from Jamestown Community College.
He didn't play any football his first two years, but he did play field hockey and was on the step team.
he is 6-10 and weighs 280lbs, he runs a 4.28 40 and has huge hands, so I hear.
He should be a good third reciever for us, a little raw but has a big upside.
