The $27.7 is after the 24% rollback.

The Cap rumored to be $40M with luxury taxes to $45M and then a hard cap.

If so, the Sabres are in good position to sign Zhitnik and stay under the Cap (guess around $33M) and even sign another FA.

We can hopefully sign Z for $3M, deal Biron and then sign two free agents for an average of $2.3M.

Note: the Queefs are at $47.7M after the rollback, with no farm system and an incomplete roster.

i would love to see Miller get the nod this year, but I'm not sure they would pull him out of Rochester where he's domiating and could bring them a championship.

Who the hell cares about Rochester? If the goal is win the Calder Cup, we might as well put Drury and Grier down their on a conditioning stint and let them play there all year too.

From an organizational development perspective, they may want these guys to get a pro championship under their belt. That's my only point.

What benefit does that necessarily serve? If it is so valuable, then send Drury and Grier and whoever down to ensure it. It's nice to have, but not at the expense of the Sabres. Rochester develops players FOR BUFFALO.

I agree LALA, the goal for the Sabres "IS" a Stanley Cup, but keeping the farm system stocked doesn't hurt us a bit. I love the Amerks too, and want to see hockey do well at all levels back home.

McD, you an Air Force Falcons fan? Fisher DeBerry is one of the best coaches in football in my opinion. I love watching the flexbone operate.

I agree with unfan. I'd keep Miller down unless Biron is traded. Till then let him have another year winning games. And not for Rachacha's sake, for his own.

The Drury Grier option is tempting with Sidney Crosby in the draft.

I'm trying to project what management may decide, not what is most logical.

Management is going to decide to win in Buffalo rather than Rochacha. Regier will no longer have the excuse of having to educate us on the economics of the game when things eventually get resolved.
